The Teaneck Terpsichoreans (Terpsys) began as the Teaneck High School Modern Dance Club in 1971 founded by Cheryl Miller-Porter. Since its inception, this after-school dance program has provided a workspace for our young students to be trained in both the technical and creative aspects of dance. The exciting annual February performances showcase the many aspects of dance for which the dancers rece

ive training. From Ballet, Modern, Tap and Jazz Dance to Ethnic/Afro-Caribbean, Ballroom and Hip-Hop, the training in these genres provided by professional guest instructors and choreographers provide the students with a unique opportunity to learn from instructors at the Masters level. Special appearances from those Terpsys who have gone on to pursue professional careers in dance, helps put the "real world" of dance into perspective for the students. Each season we also recognize the budding talent of our student choreographers, by providing a section for them to share their young creative genius.
