The Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival held in the heart of Southern California Wine Country. to 7 a.m.) morning tethered rides til approx 8:30 a.m.

The event is held annually at Lake Skinner Recreational area and park. Nestled among rolling hills of vineyards and surrounded by the Shipley Preserve, the Festival grounds offer a weekend in the park with concerts on the Main and Garden Stages, wine tasting, beer tasting, hot air balloons and fine food. Hot air balloons onsite are limited to the dawn hot air balloon flights (6 a.m. and evening ba

Our Story

Nestled among rolling hills of vineyards and surrounded by the Shipley Preserve, the Festival grounds offer a weekend in the park with concerts on the Main and Wine Garden Stages, wine tasting, local craft breweries including meaderies, local distillery tastings, hot air balloons and fine food. The Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival was started by the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce and handful of volunteers in 1983.

The first Festival featured the valley’s only wineries - six. Today there are more than 48 wineries in the Temecula Valley and more surrounding the area including the DeLuz/Fallbrook region west of Old Town Temecula, and San Diego County wineries southeast of the Temecula Valley. The annual Festival features between 16 to 20 wineries pouring samples or you can find your favorite and purchase full glasses.

The EARLY bird catches the Hot Air Balloon launch at dawn. That means flights launch between 6 and 6:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Morning tethered rides are available until approx 8:30 a.m. Reserve balloon rides and flights in advance.

BALLOONS will ONLY FLY in the EARLY MORNING, 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., weather permitting. They will be gone by 9:30 a.m. If morning to you is 10 a.m., you will miss the balloons as hot air balloons require COOL mornings and light breezes to fly and tether. Join us for our EYE OPENER Sunrise Balloon Brunch - with reserved tethered hot air balloon ride, mimosas and a scrumptious belly-filling brunch.

You may see posters and selfie photo ops around the Festival grounds after 10 a.m., but you will not see the magnificent hot air balloons again until night time on Friday and Saturday. If you are not an early riser, evening balloon glows will be your style. These occur at DUSK - after 8 p.m. in the wine gardens on Friday and Saturday. This is basic science. Hot Air Rises in cool temperatures. For Safety reasons hot air balloon activities are always weather permitting.

Campsites go on sale the first Tuesday in March each year and sell out the same day. Campsites are available at www.tvbwf.com Concerts are held on two stages and include top names. Previous headliners have included 3 Doors Down, Big & Rich, Bush, Third Eye Blind, Lifehouse, Daughtry, Blake Shelton, Chris Young, Phil Vassar, The Band Perry, Scotty McCreery, Josh Turner, Justin Moore, Peter Frampton, Collective Soul, Five for Fighting, Sugar Ray, Kenny Loggins, and Peter Frampton. Festival concert seating is including in general admission. Reserved seats are available and additional.

The Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival is a mutually beneficial 501 C 4 organization. Each year more than 70% of our budget ($1 million) is spent locally, supporting the economic viability of the community. Additionally, the Festival makes donations to non-profit organizations and provides mechanisms for non-profits to raise funds for their organizations.
