We bought a lemon farm in Temecula

Crazy right? I know. But have you ever gotten to that point in life where you just think...is this it? Is this all there is? Your kids are grown, you’ve been doing the same job for years, you’re tired of where you live...you just need a change.

So we cashed in our life savings, sold the house and bought a citrus farm in Temecula. And then we bought a flower farm. And we love it.

The De Luz Heights is practically heaven on earth. Even the air is scented of orange blossoms and eucalyptus. Its long hot sunny days and the sloped hills remind me of Italy; all covered in grape vines, olive, avocado and citrus trees. Our lemons are the sweetest, prettiest gold-blush variety of Meyers and walking through the groves transports you to a simpler time. The hum of the little bees is hypnotic and the quiet tranquility of the place stills even the most restless spirit.

Taking our little farm organic was a no-brainer. It’s always been about getting back to the basics. Growing something naturally sweet, naturally beautiful. Restoring the balance.
