BLACKPOOL DECLARED CAPITAL OF DANCE ❤️

A pilot event will take place next month to officially declare the town as the Dance Capital!

Taking place between June 14 and July 14, the month-long event will feature more than 100 different activations, including:

💃 Live performances
🕺 Workshops with celebrity dancers
💃 Dance-themed art exhibitions
🕺 Dancing in the streets

Capital of Dance will promote and build on the town’s fantastic dance heritage – there really is nowhere quite like Blackpool!

A love story from two of our wonderful students! Christine has been at the studio for 6 years. She started with a friend of hers who actually brought her in to dance. Eventually, romance blossomed with Christine and an acquaintance from work. His name is Eric. Christine brings Eric in to dance about 5 years ago. During this time, Christine had had some health issues. But never expected the news she received just days after Eric popped the question Dec last year, and asked Christine to marry him. ❤️
Wedding planning began which brings us to the present. Last Saturday April 6 the two tied the knot with a beautiful ceremony and reception. I was honored to choreograph their first dance. We are not sure what the future holds but for today we wish them Love, Joy and most of all happiness!

Today we laid to rest our dear friend and student Georgann. Dennis did us all proud and presided over the funeral.
A very emotional time as family and friends shared their stories.
We miss you already our Dancing Queen. Until we dance again ###

In solemn steps, we gather here,
Where sorrow's shroud obscures the cheer,
A funeral dance, a solemn waltz,
To bid adieu to cherished souls.

In gentle sway, our hearts do weep,
As memories of loved ones creep,
Their presence lingers in the air,
A tender touch, a whispered prayer.

With measured grace, we move in time,
To mourn the loss, to heal the rhyme,
Each step a tribute, a last embrace,
In this funeral dance, we find our space.

Though tears may fall, and hearts may ache,
We dance for love, for memories' sake,
In unity, we find our strength,
In this final dance, we'll go to any length.

So let us dance for those we've lost,
Their spirits freed from earthly cost,
