Great news, I found out today that I am going to get some shipments 📦 of flowers out of the Pacific Northwest for Mother’s Day. This includes lilac! I have heard from several women over the years this is their favorite flower. May or Mother’s Day is lilac’s very short peak bloom season. If you know this is your Mom’s favorite flower, let me know when you place your order so I can include it in your garden style arrangement box.

Are any of you like me not realizing there is such a thing as a mobile sharpening service? My brother Sam told me to look into it and I did. I have had Scott come to our house once a year for the past three years to sharpen our kitchen knifes. He is quick, good, and affordable! $5.00 service call and he can sharpen almost anything starting at $3.00.

Sharp N It came out about a month ago and I had them sharpen all my floral tools too. Designer’s Mark is not receiving anything in return for this post. We are just hoping this helps some of you out by being aware of and supporting another local small business while you enjoy some renewed tools in your house or business.

Cobalt blue is this bride’s favorite color. Oh for the love of color! This wedding had it! My kids’ Spanish teacher got married this past weekend at the most adorable little chapel in Sedona, Arizona. So glad I could play a part in it. Congratulations Marianna Lay and Manuel!

Sedona Country Wedding Bouquet

A country, succullent, kind of wedding bouquet for wedding pictures in Sedona, Arizona today. Bouquets with succulents in them can be a trick to keep alive. Most bouquets you can pop in a 38-40 degree floral cooler, but when adding succulents you can't let them get too cold or the succulents start to brown and turn to mush.

Art and design has a way of expressing the thoughts and personalities of individuals. I love hearing the hearts of each of the brides and incorporating their styles into each of their bouquets. What can you tell from their flowers? Are they classic and beautiful, trendy or unique, colorful and fun etc?

These past couple of weeks I have been meeting with, corresponding, and booking Spring 2019 weddings! Typically the ideal time to meet with brides is after they have chosen a venue and bridesmaid dresses. Depending on the length of the engagement this can be as much as 1.5 years or one month out. Small details like precise quantities and exact delivery/setup timing gets locked in one month before the wedding.

It’s a busy time meeting with Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 brides. Guess what the trending wedding colors are this year!? Blush, rose gold, and navy! I picked up these cool containers and floral rose gold spray paint at the wholesaler to keep up with the trends. The first wedding to use the rose gold paint element in their wedding flowers just booked this week!

God was good and had the weather take a slight dip in temperature and sent a light breeze yesterday just as the wedding ceremony started at the Schnepf Farms Farmhouse. 98 degree April wedding, and keeping the flowers from wilting!

This wedding was super fun, not just because of the fall colors and textures, but this brides love story is linked to mine and Joshua Schifferer. Seven years ago, Kyla Gorzalka got engaged during the course of the ASU statistics class the three of us were in. After that I started sitting with her and Josh in class. Nothing like a good statistics class to make friends! Josh and I may have tied the knot a little sooner, but she finally turned in her fiancé title to Mrs. last night!
