Students from kindergarten to 5th grade in Mrs Langley's art class created the current ArtWall on display now. The students learned about artist Alma Thomas who is the first African American woman to have a solo exhibition at New York's Whitney Museum of Museum of American Art. From Their Texarkana to Our Texarkana: A Reimagining of Historic Texarkana Photographs
ART GAUNTLET IS TODAY!
This free event for students will have an art station located on each floor of our building. Artists currently exhibiting in TRAHC's 35th Annual Juried Exhibition will be leading students in an art activity related to their work in the exhibition.
Students who participate in all three stations can be entered into a chance to win great prizes like an Art To Go Bag, $25.00 Chick-Fil-A gift card, and a $45.00 Cinemark gift pass! The first 120 participants will receive a Buy One Get One Free Regular Cookie Coupon for Great American Cookie in the mall!

Rhaelene will be leading students in a small drawing exercise that will be reminiscent of her work in the exhibition. These two pieces include "Camouflage," and " Design (after Robert Frost)." Participants will create a piece that will recontextualize found objects through drawing and collage.

Claire will create an installation using cut shapes that is reminiscent of her piece, "Two Stars," featured in this year's Juried Exhibition. This installation will be in Cabe Hall located on the second floor of the Regional Arts Center. This installation will change over the course of the day.
