Texarkana Regional Arts & Humanities Council, Inc. Growing people and community through the Arts!

TRAHC is a people-building and community-building organization – a leadership organization of arts and ideas that works to create an energized, creative, connected community. Formed in 1978 by community leaders with generous assistance from the Junior League of Texarkana, TRAHC’s goals were to protect, develop, take advantage of, and provide all citizens with access to our own cultural resources.

As we have progressed, the “arts” have also proven to be a wise economic investment as well as a tourism stimulus. TRAHC is both a presenter and a preserver of historical legacies for the Perot Theatre and the Regional Arts Center. The guiding principals of TRAHC are:
- Artistic Excellence
- Education
- Collaboration
- Leadership
- Participation
- Accessibility
- Pride of Place
- Service to the Community
- Community Involvement
- Organizational Innovation

Have you stopped by the Regional Arts Center to see the amazing pieces in the Good Trouble Quilt Exhibition sponsored by the TRAHC African American Committee yet? ✨

Tonight at 6:30, TAAC will host the annual African American Voice: An Evening of Performance with Special Moments for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., surrounded by quilts honoring the legacy of Congressman John Lewis. Dr. King's program and the TAAC-sponsored exhibition, Good Trouble Quilts: The Life and Legacy of Congressman John Lewis, are uniquely connected this year. Their work for civil rights and the mentor-mentee, brother-family member relationship give this year's event special meaning.

We are happy to announce our spring shows for all ages at the Perot Theatre! Bring the whole family and experience the spectacular magic of stage performance with The Ugly Duckling and Pedal Punk. 🎭

Ugly Duckling (Friday, March 7 @ 7 PM)
Lightwire Theater brings a classic tale to the modern stage in an unforgettable theatrical experience. Lined with electroluminescent wire, the beloved story of the Ugly Duckling plays out on stage through a cutting-edge blend of puppetry, technology and dance. With dazzling visuals, poignant choreography and the creative use of music ranging from classical to pop, this production brings the story into a new and brilliant light. This show is recommended for Pre-K to 5th grade students, but can be enjoyed by all!

Pedal Punk (Thursday, April 17 @ 7 PM)
Enter the world of Pedal Punk, a Steampunk-inspired place where cycling is the way to escape the technology-obsessed society. In the Pedal Punk theater show, we experience the excitement, artistry, and thrill that occurs when a wacky bike shop mechanic interacts with cyclists and bikes. He repairs more than broken pieces. He creates wondrous machines and inspires the cyclist in all of us to become a Pedal Punk. This show is recommended for ages five and up!
