Excellent and happy another step forward TEXAS Cottage Food Laws updated effective 9/1/2019

WE DID IT! Everything is about to change for Texas homemade food producers. Governor Abbott has signed SB 572, the Cottage Food Freedom bill, into law! It will take effect on September 1, 2019.

A brief synopsis of the changes:
- Direct sales at any location
- Sales of any food that does not require time or temperature control
- Local internet sales
- Pickled and frozen fruits and vegetables
- Acidified canned foods (including salsa if pH is 4.6 or below)
- Fermented vegetables

Countless hours of work have gone into passing this bill. While I will do a big wrap-up post later, right now I want to thank Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance, Eddie Rodriguez, and Lois Kolkhorst for all their work in bringing this bill across the finish line. It's HARD to pass laws, y'all. 😂
