Cool venue in MC!

So I quietly celebrated my 1 year anniversary of The Old Building. I kept it on the down low to myself and decided not to have an event to celebrate. I celebrated inside my head by reflecting on this last year. The good, the bad, and the ugly all went through my mind. I have grown so much in the last year, I have actually lived out a dream that I never thought was even achievable by myself. I reflect back on the first time I walked into the building with the previous owner, Chad Ross. I knew instantly that I wanted to make something beautiful happen here, it was in my heart. I had to close my ears to negativity from people who just don't have vision, and listen to my heart and the amazing support from family and friends.
The fact that I opened a venue in the midst of a pandemic was a mess in itself, but it somehow didn't affect me much, thank goodness! Thank you to ALL who have rented The Old Building for any event that you held!!! I love all of you and the friendships that I have built!!
The Old Building is not quite done. It is definitely a work in progress, and by no means easy. The amount of work, stress, and money that has been put into this whole project is insane. But, I will overcome the leaks, and adding another patio cover to hopefully make the indoor/outdoor bar functional. And at the end of the day, so worth it!! I absolutely love my job!
I can't explain why I have such a passion for bringing old Berwick back to life, I just do. I am not done, many ideas are swirling around in my head. I just wish I could get others on board by investing in our downtown and riverfront area.
Reflections today were good for me, and staying busy also. I constantly wish my parents were here to help and encourage me, that leaves a hole in my heart daily. But, all in all, it was a great, beautiful day.
