You know who has a tough job? COORDINATORS have a tough job! 📋 This post is to honor the people who run the show! They go into the day with every minute written on a sheet of paper. Sounds easy, right? But, with an average of 150 guests to keep happy, vendors who aren’t paying attention to the timeline, DJs who roll in with their own plan for the reception, volunteers who are salty because they don’t want see it as an honor that they’ve been asked, by the family, to cut the cake… Coordinators manage all of this, and SO MUCH MORE, without the family knowing anything crazy is happening! If you don’t have a professional event manager, get you one! It’s too much to handle, on your own, and be able to enjoy your wedding day!

Happy happy birthday, Wendy!!

Anyone who has hosted an event at Sorelle knows Wendy! What you may not know is how very awesome she is!

Not many venues have the owner bussing tables, dumping trash, moving floral, mopping, etc at 99.99% of the events! Wendy is there! She is hard working and kind. She truly cares about every client and wants to do everything she can to make their event be a huge success!

Today is her birthday and we hope she gets a day off! We love you dearly and are blessed to be a a part of your dream! (Just one day off, tho! Thanks to you, we have a busy fall! ❤️)

I would like to wish the “brains” of The Burlap Napkin and her husband, Justin, a very happy 40th wedding anniversary!

Mary is a wonderful co-worker, sharp as a tack, and she is always an awesome example of what a woman of faith should be like. (We, at the very least, text, call or see each other pretty much every day of the week, so I know!)

I hope you guys got to celebrate big and he bought you a Rt 66 Vanilla DP for the ride home!

A little blog about a business in their fifth year: If I could apply one word or phrase to each year, it would go something like this…
Year 1: Excitement
Year 2: Self-Reflection
Year 3: Grasp
Year 4: Hustle
Year 5: Poise
The reality of it… Having a dream, and making it happen, will bring you such elation! That first year, the adrenaline rush kept me on cloud nine! But wow, the other emotions and well, growth, since then have been REAL!

I truly feel success is a movement toward a less selfish life. Sure, we all need to keep a positive balance in our bank accounts. But, in a service type of industry like the wedding biz, your bottom line is your client’s success! That means adjusting your mind set off of what you want and onto what they want! So, we made adjustments in our business model, and in ourselves! That meant adding partial planning to every package we offer without a bump up in price. It’s been more work but it’s incredibly fulfilling!

Grasp. I went with “grasp” because “get a grip” was more than one word! lol! There are walls you hit in every big endeavor. Those are the moments you HAVE to choose to toughen up! For me, setting goals really helps! Evaluate what is causing the anxiety and make a plan to knock it out! So, we had to work more! We had to hustle! Hustling leads to so many great things - tangible and intangible! I am very thankful for the many clients, and guests, at Sorelle! The hustle brought experience! Lots of it! Experience is invaluable in the world of events! The best teacher!

There is not much separation from the business of Sorelle and myself. It’s been my life for five years now 🤍 Our tag line is, “Your story begins at Sorelle” but, honestly, it’s more “my story began at Sorelle”. A major chapter of it, anyway! So, to end this blog, as a five year business (and a 56 year old woman), I feel poised to be the best version of Sorelle to date! Confident in our services and focused on our client’s success!

There are goals for years 5-10. I hope you will follow along as we grow and expand! We live for what’s beautiful, in the world of weddings, and for all the new ideas! Hopefully, the upcoming years will showcase a few of our own!
