Planning your wedding or any event for that matter can be a bit stressful. And you want to know that the vendors you choose are legit and are going to provide you great service. Everyone has a budget but be careful and do your due diligence when looking for those vendors.

When it comes to catering ask these important questions:

1 - Are they fully licensed & insured? Ask to see it!

2 - Do the have a health grade? Ask to see it! You can also look them up through the Department of Heath & Human Services for your state.

3 - Do they operate out of a COMMERCIAL KITCHEN? Not their home kitchen. Ask for the kitchen info and look it up.

4 - Ask how they transport & keep your food hot? Your food should come off of the stove or out of the oven to a hotbox for transport and maintain the correct temperature until serving. Your food should never be fixed, refrigerated and reheated.

5 - Ask are they full-service? What all do they do when they get to your event? Make sure you know their responsibility and you know your responsibility.

If a company cannot provide any of the above info when you ask for it be very careful. We hate seeing people get scammed or getting food from companies not following the appropriate guidelines set forth by the NCDHHS.

As you look for other vendors ask lots of questions and do they have insurance. Read reviews! Cheaper isn’t always better and if it sounds too good to be true….it probably is!
