🌲 We are already prepping the ground to plant in 2024 by adding some tiling to the field. It’s a big investment but our hope is that it helps the trees have better growing conditions. While periods of drought have definitely been an issue in the past few years, soil drainage is also an essential part of growing fir trees. Drainage tile helps the soil to become better drained when we do have wet conditions.

❤️❤️Thank you for an amazing 2023 tree season. We hope you enjoyed the farm season whether it was your first visit or 31st visit. We would be lying if we said we weren’t anxious going into this season because of the changes we had planned. Thank you for being patient with us as we worked through this new process. 🌲 One of our favorite things at the farm is seeing family and friends making lasting memories. Tree selection is very limited. There are a few Canaan firs left that are up to 5.5’. We have a decent selection of White Pines that are up to 5.5’. We also have some Scotch Pine left.
🚨 SALE - Because of the limited selection, all trees (excluding table top trees) are 50% off.

🌲🌲We did start the season with shorter trees in the field. The recent years of droughts during the tree’s growing season has affected the height of the trees. We are working to plant trees ahead to get some hight in the field. However, it takes us 7-8 years to grow a tree so it will be a few years until we start to see that change. Hopefully, we will have better growing conditions in the coming years as well.

🐶 Dog Day 2023 is this weekend🐶
The dogs will be at the farm on Saturday, December 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 3 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to pull your Christmas tree.

🐶 This is an event at the farm you won't want to miss!! 🐶

The South Central Newfoundland Club will be on the farm with their big woolly dogs to pull your tree from the field to the processing area. Some pull a cart, some pull a sled, some hook on to a tarp. They work in tandem and by themselves.

Newfies are a friendly, docile breed. They're hard workers and they love children. It's a great photo opportunity! You're invited to support the club's Newfie rescue efforts with your tips and donations.

We visited the State House today along with fellow Indiana Christmas Tree Grower's Association members to deliver 17 trees. Each year we bring a white pine tree to the Indiana State Department of Agriculture. Fun fact, we have been long time friends with the Director of the Department of Agriculture, Mr.Lamb. He even drove a tractor on the farm last weekend. 😊

💦🌲Here is Your Reminder to Water Your Tree
🌲Tree Care Tips🌲
🌲If you’re not immediately ready to set up and decorate your tree, leave it outdoors in a spot protected from wind and sun. When the time comes to set up your tree, make a fresh cut on the base - just saw off the bottom quarter inch of the trunk. This opens the tree stem so it can take up water properly. Then put it right into a stand filled with fresh water.
🌲Fresh-cut trees are very thirsty. Your tree will drink between two pints and a gallon of water a day, so it’s essential to have a water-bearing stand that can hold at least a gallon of water or more. Check the stand every day and add fresh water as needed.
🌲Remember, if you let the water level drop below the freshly cut base of the trunk, a new seal will form over the bottom and the tree will not be able to drink.
Your tree will be happiest away from sources of heat like fireplaces, registers, radiators or baseboard heaters and away from the direct rays of the sun.
🌲Check all electric light and connections before decorating your tree and discard lights with worn or frayed cords. Be sure to turn off all decorations before you go to bed at night and any time you leave home. And never use lighted candles on your tree.

We have made it a priority to start each tree season with prayer and those who want to join in can or just stand with us. Tom’s prayer yesterday mentioned the tension that can arise on a busy day at the farm. We know we are not perfect people and will miss the mark or maybe respond in not the best way. But we hope a majority of time through our acts of service, you see a glimpse of the love of Jesus.
We are so blessed by this group of staff that whether they have the same belief system as us or not, they still go above and beyond to help serve our customers and fellow team members. If you see one when you visit the farm this season, be sure to thank them. They work so hard each day. ❤️

🚨2023 Dull’s Tree Farm – TREE SEASON UPDATE🚨🎄
Please read as this contains important information about the changes coming for the 2023 Season. Each year we continue to plant more and more trees to try to meet the demand of our growing customer base. It takes us 7-8 years to produce a marketable tree. Mother Nature has not been on our side the last 5 years as we have faced many droughts in those years. Because of these droughts, we are seeing shorter trees in the field this year. We anticipate having around 6,000 trees for sale this year, but we will not have many over 8 feet tall. 🎄
➡️Now onto the changes….to be able to expand out our tree acreage, we moved all our trees to the north side of the road. In doing so, this can make for a longer walk. We are working this year to implement wagon rides to the tree fields. Because of the amount of people who come right when we open on opening day, we don’t anticipate having enough wagons and tractors to move all people to and from the tree field. Below are our options for this year. Our biggest recommendation is to not come right when we open on opening day. We also recommend bringing a tarp if you do come right when we open on opening day to help move your tree since we have a limited number of carts.
🎄🎄Options for Getting a Tree this Year:
NOTE: If you bring your dog 🐶with you to the farm, dogs will not be allowed on the wagons. You will have to walk to and from the field with your dog or you can choose a pre-cut tree.

However, our first real test run will be opening day when there are thousands of people in line waiting to come onto the farm. We ask for patience with us this year as we work through any issues with this process. Know our goal is to make your experience a great one.

•Pick a pre-cut tree from our pre-cut lot and get in tree processing line for trees on wagons.
⏰We are working on implementing a waitlist app so that you do not have to wait in a line for the wagon. You will be able to enjoy the farm and receive a text once your wagon ride is ready. We are still in the testing phase of this process, but we hope to have it ready by opening day.
❤️❤️Know that we have poured many hours into coming up with a process for this season. However, our first real test run will be opening day when there are thousands of people in line waiting to come onto the farm. We ask for patience with us this year as we work through any issues with this process. Know our goal is to make your experience a great one.
