On March 29th, a Donor Coach shall be stationed at the Texas Renaissance Festival offices (21778 FM 1774, Plantersville, TX 77363) to welcome all those willing to give the precious gift of life. This valiant cause helps ensure our local hospitals and those in need have the life-saving blood they require.

The King himself shall roll up his sleeve in this effort, and he doth invite all good gentles to do the same. Together, let us strengthen our community and stand as champions of hope and healing.

On Saturday, March 22, 2025, the Texas Renaissance Festival' is honored to sponsor and participate in Walk MS: The Woodlands, a valiant endeavor to support those affected by multiple sclerosis. This event shall commence at Town Green Park (2099 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77380), with festivities beginning at 8:30 a.m., followed by an opening ceremony at 9:15 a.m., and the walk setting forth at 9:30 a.m.

We invite all fair denizens to join our team, the TexRenFest Striders. Or, thou canst show thy support of our team by donating. Your contributions shall aid in the quest to find a cure for MS and provide assistance to those who battle this condition daily.

The Texas Renaissance Festival is sad to announce the passing of William C. Grant, our Friend, Fellow Performer, and Stage manager. We offer our sincerest condolences and deepest sympathy to the family, friends, and colleagues of Bill.

Jeff Baldwin, TRF’s general manager, has kindly shared his thoughts and appreciation for our beloved Stage Manager and friend - Bill.

Bill Grant played an invaluable role in shaping the magic of the Texas Renaissance Festival in ways that words cannot capture. He was more than just a stage manager; he was the heartbeat behind the scenes, the quiet force that kept everything running smoothly, even amidst chaos.

For many, the festival served as an escape—a world filled with fantasy and laughter where time seemed to stand still. None of this would have been possible without Bill. His steady guidance was evident every day, from the hustle of setting up, to the intensity of ensuring each performance went off without a hitch. Always working behind the scenes, Bill anticipated the next move and resolved minor issues before they became issues. For him, it was never just a job; it was his passion and a labor of love for the festival and everyone he cherished.

His dedication transcended mere planning and coordination; he loved the logistics. I am sure he picked up these skills working for NASA. Bill was able to read people and situations, whether encouraging a performer, directing patrons, or addressing a crisis that demanded nothing short of a miracle, he knew just what to say and do. With calm demeanor and quiet confidence born from years of festival experience he was always available, and he never sought the spotlight, Behind the scenes, he was a true star of the show. His talent was helping everyone feel that they were part of something greater than the sum of its parts. He was a magical, rare, and precious gift.

Beyond the festival, Bill had a heart as grand as his abilities. He made the festival feel like a second home for all of us, whether seasoned stage acts or first-time performers. His kindness was always apparent. Whether offering a cold compress, a snack, or a dram of scotch to someone in need or lending a listening ear to those struggling, he was a rock—a quiet, unwavering presence in our lives.

As we continue to gather under the banners of the Texas Renaissance Festival that we all cherish, let us remember Bill in every morning meeting, every proclamation, every payroll, every burst of fireworks, and every moment of magic that echoes through these grounds. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit is woven into every moment, every performance, and every memory we create here.

Thank you, Bill, for your dedication, love, guidance, tireless spirit, and, most importantly, our friendship. You have left a legacy that will continue to resonate in the hearts of everyone who knew and worked with you.
May you rest in peace, knowing the show will continue because of you.

We bring glad tidings and hearty congratulations to our noble sister faire, Sherwood Forest Faire, as they open their grand gates for another season of revelry and adventure! From the 1st of March through the 20th of April, their merry village shall come alive each weekend with the spirit of Robin Hood and his band of bold outlaws.

Within their sprawling medieval realm, thou shalt find over 100 fine buildings, 170 skilled artisans and merchants, and a staggering 150 shows per day! Marvel at the aerial grace of Sky Kings Falconry, laugh with the mischievous Washing Well Wenches, and gasp in awe at the daring feats of Judas & Magnolia Escape Artists. And of course, the thunderous clash of knights in full armor with the New Riders of the Golden Age shall echo through the land!

This season, Sherwood Forest Faire welcomes the famed minstrels, The Wellermen! masters of sea shanties who have sung their way into legend across the realm! Their melodies are to be heard at Sherwood on the 1st and 2nd of March!

Earlier this month, the Todd Mission Volunteer Fire Department hosted a Raffle and BBQ Fundraiser to support our community and stand by one of our own. In addition to raising crucial funds for the department, we came together to offer aid to our fellow firefighter, Donald Shelby, who is bravely facing a diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

We were honored by the presence of His Majesty, the King of the Texas Renaissance Festival, who graciously drew the winning names for the raffle. In a moment of great honor and respect, the King bestowed knighthood upon Donald Shelby, naming him Sir Pirate of the Realm.

We are grateful for all who joined us in fellowship and support. May our combined strength and goodwill bring comfort and hope to this noble knight and his family.

Most recently, we didst journey to the fair and merry land of Galveston at the invitation of Galveston Historical Foundation, where the streets were adorned with cheer and the air filled with the sweet sounds of celebration! The King and his royal court didst attend the splendid Pickwick’s Lantern Parade, part of the renowned Dickens on the Strand event.

As we marched in the spirit of the Yuletide Season, the King did proclaim that the festivities were a wondrous sight, and his royal heart was filled with joy at the gathering of kindred spirits. The court does extend its heartfelt blessings to thee, noble subjects, with wishes of peace, prosperity, and much happiness this holiday season. May thy hearths be warm and thy spirits light!

The King’s joy was great, and he bids thee all a most joyous holiday season!

At the sixth hour, as the evening falls and lanterns light the path, the royal procession shall join in the Lantern Lit Parade, a procession most grand!
