Handmade Toledo was born from a desire to give Toledo makers, doers, and crafters a place to call home. Since 2012, Handmade Toledo has been bringing you the Maker’s Mart indie craft fair in April and November, along with mini marts and pop-up shops in and around the Toledo area. Two years into this DIY adventure, we opened our brick & mortar at 1717 Adams Street in the beautiful Uptown District i
n Toledo, Ohio. It was originally built in the 1920s as a car dealership, once a belt factory, home to the very first Artomatic 419! in 2006, offices for the Toledo Repertoire Theater, and for a stint was the home base for the Toledo Boxing Club, along with a dozen other fun events held in the space over the years. Handmade Toledo is a creative multipurpose space that includes a handmade maker shoppe, workshop space for all sorts of handmade, hands on, make-and-take classes and skillshares, maker studio spaces, gallery space, and also serves as an event space that hosts art related events, and provides an opportunity for artists and makers to join a like-minded inspiring community. Dedicated to a DIY way of life, we seek to create a thriving community of artisans who take pride in doing things themselves while supporting others in the local handmade economy. Toledo provides - it's a fact!
