Throwback to when we did a blind taste test of Organic Chicken options. The winner was obviously Big Bluff Ranch. Juicy, tender, great texture and the flavor was the best by far!

Queen Jessica potatoes are ready for harvest! This weekend we are opening a special Stemple Creek “Meat & Potatoes Farmstand” to give you all a chance to take home some Queen Jessica potatoes. These potatoes are pretty darn creamy and delicious and were all farmed organically at Stemple Creek Ranch.

Along with the potatoes, we will be offering a selection of our best-selling beef, pork and lamb cuts for you to purchase. So, bring a cooler bag!

You can find the “Meat & Potatoes Farmstand” on Gericke Rd. off Fallon Road near the Town of Tomales. It will be on the west side of Gericke a little ways past Zia’s Farmhouse. Right in front of the potato patch! Look for the water trough on the left. (see map)

This week we lost the patriarch of the Poncia Family, my dad Al Poncia. It’s been a tough year for our family and as my late sister Jessica said: “The only way past this, is through it.” We are going to keep going forward every day.

My Dad was as authentic as they come… not always perfect, but he loved me and my family. He taught me the values of hard work and to never give up… he loved me so much and taught me so much… I will miss him and was lucky enough to be there with him when he took his last breath.

My Dad was an incredible rancher, neighbor, friend, grand “Poppa,” husband & father. His spirit was larger than life - and he dedicated his life to his family, his Tomales community, and to ranching.

My dad said: “When I die, I want some of my ashes to go up on the hill over there. What could be better than to be plowed into the earth and be born again with every season’s new grass?”

Are you a fan of our lamb? The most cost-effective way to purchase our 100% grass-fed lamb is through our custom cut & wrap program! Right now we have a 2-3 week turnaround on a handful of our lambs - cut and wrapped according to your preferences.

When purchasing a Stemple Creek whole lamb, it is important to understand the value you get with each meal. On a 50-pound whole lamb, the take-home weight after processing will be about 38 pounds (approximately 75% yield of the hanging weight). The total cost, including butcher fees, will be around $455, which is less than $12 per pound. Assuming each meal consists of 1/2 pound portion, the cost per meal is approximately $6 for our delicious 100% grass-fed and grass-finished lamb.
