The history of this building is so fascinating to me. I love meeting people who have been in before in one of its 'past lives'. With 126 years of history, you know she has seen some stuff! 🤣

While the building has been a bar of some sort for quite some time, it's also been a hat shop, wallpaper shop, pharmacy, candy shop, the list goes on!

Last Friday during karaoke, we had the pleasure of meeting Wes "Hollywood" Jones, who has sang a number of times in this building starting when he was just 16 years old, at a bar called Ireland's. He shared some fun stories and this new memory with us. ❤️🎙🎶

Today is the day! So many exciting in things in NOTO Arts & Entertainment District for First Friday!

We will have co****le in the courtyard, outside food is always welcome, fun luau decor and exclusive drink menu from our Thank You for Being a Friend - a Golden Girls Luau, and of course - karaoke 😁🎶🎙

Ok, so I'm definitely behind on posting. 🤣

First of all, the Thank You for Being a Friend - a Golden Girls Luau was everything. It was fun, it was loud, so many moments of laughter through tears, but most of all - connection and memories. I'm so grateful in the depths of my heart for everyone who was there. Thank you for being a friend!! 🫶

Second, we have SO MUCH STUFF coming up! Here is a brief look of dates to put on your calendar, but note.....

❤️KARAOKE tomorrow night at First Friday!
❤️YOGA Saturday morning! That's right! We're introducing yoga in this space and I couldn't be more excited!

I'm so excited today!! I've been waiting 4ish years to post a photo with a SOLD OUT sign on it!!

Thank you so much to everyone who has bought tickets to this event! I've been thinking it up for MONTHS and to have so many people excited about it is everything!

If you wanted to attend but can't, we'll be having a part 2 next Friday, First Friday. We won't have all the same things and prizes but there WILL be karaoke and our featured Shady Pines Special drink menu!

Today is the day for our very first Pour It Out night and I could NOT be more excited!

I have *actually* been looking forward to this event for years before it was ever on the calendar.

A time set aside just to show up as we are - PJs, work clothes, yoga pants, whatever - no agenda, no expectations, no pressure .

A time to gather, connect, laugh, celebrate wins, share struggles, or simply sit and listen.

If I'm being transparent for a minute...

One of the things I hear is, "There's never anything to do in Topeka." And "We didn't know this was here!"

At the same time, when local businesses spend weeks (or months!) creating unique experiences, they only survive if people actually show up.

Our Golden Girls Luau is just 11 days away, and while we're excited, we've sold fewer tickets than we'd like so far. That's the reality of hosting community events. Every themed night, workshop, and special experience is a leap of faith, and they're only possible because of people like you.
