We provide custom florals, floral instruction, flower experiences and tours of the LA Flower District. Flower Duet is a full-service floral design company created and run by two sisters based in Los Angeles, California. Since 1999 when they founded Flower Duet out of small design studios to 2010 when they opened up in a warehouse location in Torrance, partners Kit Coleman Wertz & Casey Coleman Sch

wartz had a mission to not only create beautiful bouquets and floral designs for their clients, but to also "take the mystery out of floral arranging" for students of all ages from little kids to older floral enthusiasts. Kit and Casey have been long-time instructors for the venerable Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California, American Grown Flowers Field to Vase Dinner Designers, Slow Flowers Summit Speakers and frequent guest speakers for many groups. They continue to offer floral design instruction for all audiences with over 200 courses in their premium online school as well as in-person instruction at their studio and in private settings with a focus on where to purchase locally grown flowers and design sustainably.

Trying out a new rose variety from called 'Absolute in Pink.' We love it when our vendors trust us to test out new flowers! We teamed these gorgeous light pink roses fresh from the farm (which are opening absolutely beautifully) with butterfly Ranunculus and summertime ball dahlias from our lical TJs in a hand thrown gold ceramic vase. We had a fabulous day at the Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens teaching over 100 people in two separate classes how to make two different designs in a vase using three types of roses and other wonderful complementary flowers.

Our students were fabulous. We had a wonderful collection of people we've been teaching over the years and brand new people who came for the first time today.

It's always challenging in the best way because you keep us on our toes and make sure that we always bring you something new to learn and to admire. And thank you so much for your patronage and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Flower Alert! Did you wonder which flower your favorite artist loves? June is African American Music Appreciation Month! Created by President Jimmy Carter in 1979, this month celebrates the African American musical influences that comprise an essential part of our nation's treasured cultural heritage.

Just caught the promo for Tiny Desk Concerts for June which will feature the theme: "Giving women their flowers.” After each Tiny Desk concert on NPR, the musicians will be given their favorite flowers in honor of their impact and legacy in music.

They are partnering with a local florist Kelanda Edwards of The Watering Can in D.C. (https://www.instagram.com/kiiiki) who will make the bouquets for the music artists. I can't wait to hear the music and see what Chaka Khan's favorite flowers are and of course, listen to the music!

Every wedding is unique and every wedding has its own mood. This wedding was a fun combination of terracotta pots, lots of greenery and plants, and white flowers. The bride had a touch of light blue delphinium in her bouquet. Every bridesmaid held a different set of flowers for her bouquet. One had just calla lilies. One had just roses. One had sweet peas and so on. With a beautiful bride in a gorgeous strapless dress and timeless bob haircut, and her bridesmaids in terracotta-colored dresses, the sunny Saturday afternoon celebration at Rolling Hills Country Club was a beautiful setting indeed.

Delighted to return to Sofi Stadium to teach another flower arranging workshop for Mother’s Day. Our 3rd annual visit with many of the participants returning each year and aIl becoming very skilled floral designers. Always a delight to return and teach them something new. When anybody performs at Sofi don’t you always hope for standing ovation… I got one, but then again everybody was standing up when they were finished their design. Happy Mother’s Day all.

I’ve got sand in my eye I’ve got sand in my eye… The kind that doesn’t hurt, but heals the soul. Quicksand roses are absolutely beautiful. Prepping these to go into a garland today. Stopped us in our tracks as we were working at the studio. Stop and look at the roses and get sand in your eye.

About The Sisters

SISTERS Casey and Kit Coleman co-founded Flower Duet in Los Angeles almost 20 years ago as a side-hustle at the insistence of their girlfriends who thought that what they did was fun and cool.

What Kit and Casey did in 1999 was teach their friends how to arrange flowers in a relaxed party atmosphere. Those girlfriends started to get married and asked the Coleman sisters to make their wedding flowers so Flower Duet was born.

Fast forward to 2019 and the Coleman sisters still teach how to arrange flowers in a relaxed party atmosphere at their 4,500 square foot design studio in the South Bay of Los Angeles - AND - they make beautiful flower designs for all of life’s celebrations including weddings and parties - AND they do a lot of other super cool things with flowers.

In addition to their expanding floral design studio business in Torrance, Kit & Casey are actively involved in volunteerism in their local community and through charitable donations to their local public school districts of Redondo Beach, Torrance, Los Angeles and the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
