My Christmas Portal is loading… Juniper and Winterberry are coming in tomorrow so I’ll really be able to make it extra Holly Jolly. 🥰 And then ornaments after Thanksgiving. Eeek!!!

This has been a hard year for many folks, and I’m ready to get into the holiday spirit. Have I bought my Thanksgiving turkey yet? Nope! But I spent 4 hours building a frame, harvesting from my evergreens and essentially making myself a holiday arch today! Spark that joy! Let’s get it poppin’!!!

I’m also going to a holiday open house tomorrow to try ALL of the Christmas Cookies by ! Time to order cookies for us to enjoy during our Holiday Wreath Workshops, especially since the first one is less than 2 weeks away!

Ahhh!!! So much excitement!!!

I am SO EXCITED!!! I got my new wreath machine working today! I’m absolutely over the moon with how beautiful these wreaths are! And they smell sooooooo good! 😍

How early do you hang up your wreath? I’m a lights and tree up after Thanksgiving gal myself, but I’ve been putting my wreaths up earlier and earlier every year because I can’t stop the holiday spirit!

I am officially over halfway booked for 2025 wedding florals!!! Eek!!! Considering at this time in 2023 I was still working in the hospital full time and flowers were my side hustle, I am SO thankful for every single person who has helped us grow. Been designing full time on the flower farm, for 11 months now and LOVING being able to do my passion projects as a career! 🥰

Happy Veteran’s Day to all of those who have served and risked everything for our country, like this guy! This is my Grandfather, Rudy, and he just turned 101! He served in WW2. And my big brother and two of my cousins followed in his footsteps and served too! Proud to call you family! And thank you to all Veterans for your sacrifices and hard work in service of our country! ❤️🤍💙

Now that Halloween is over…

I’m happy to announce that I’m working on preserving my darling Dahlias to make… CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS!!!

If you thought you wouldn’t have to hear about my Dahlia obsession when they’re dug up and in storage… you thought WRONG! 🤣 It’s a 24/7/365 thing over here, so strap in!!!

Really excited to be able to plant these after all- it’s a new specialty variety so I was pretty sad that I was gonna miss out this year!

This is one of the new roses that I planted earlier this fall. If I were a better flower farmer, I would’ve cut off the rosebud to let the plant focus on putting down good roots instead of blooming buuuuut I’m selfish so I let her do her thing.

And honestly, I’m not even a little bit sad about it. She’s beautiful. I can’t wait to meet her again next spring/summer. 😍

PEONY UPDATE:

The last of the wholesale peonies are FINALLY HERE!!!
I do have bad news about the Sunny Girl variety though, the roots that arrived (2 weeks late) do not meet my quality standards so I have refunded everyone who ordered that variety.

LAST CHANCE to snag your bare root peonies! I still have some available on the website, so I’ll leave those up until 5pm on Tuesday, 10/29.

I have started filling orders! Local Pickup Orders are ready to go now, and the peonies do need to get into the ground asap so please come by and pick up your orders at your earliest convenience!

I am so excited to plant more of these beauties. I sold every single stem as fast as I could harvest them this spring, and still bought in a bunch from local farms. I adore Peonies, the way just a few blooms will fill a room with the most incredible scent. Watching them unfurl those ruffled petals into the most decadent bomb of gorgeousness is unparalleled.

I’m also trying a new planting method this year- ‘s power washer trick! 🤣

Does anyone remember the very sick, tiny kitten that climbed under Zane’s car in the McDonald’s drive thru before our first Sip and Snip event with Tipsy Trailer this summer? My in-laws fell in love and took him home with them.
His name is Mac, aka Big Mac and he is 3.5 months now and thriving! Look at him, he’s enormous, healthy and most of all, very loved!

Thank you to Beverly and Jon Schroeder for loving all the creatures, great and small! Proud to be part of your family! 🩷

It’s my favorite time of year. The leaves are finally changing, and our anniversary was last week. (Yes, that’s us, 9 years ago!) 🩷

When I tell my couples that I love fall weddings, it’s purely because I’m biased! 😉 Truly I’ve yet to meet a wedding I didn’t think was gorgeous, but there’s something magical about the autumnal hues of foliage creating such spectacular scenery!

I have been talking about doing this a long time. And I have done a few bouquet bars, but my focus has been elsewhere the last few months. However, during that time, I ordered a flower cart so I could provide you all with a fun way to bring the flowers to your own parties.
Now that I'm slowing down here on the farm, it's been time to shift my focus to some of the side projects that I set in motion- Like the Broken Maple Farm Bouquet Bar!

Since I'm still a florist even when my flower farm isn't blooming, I take my job of getting gorgeous blooms in your hands very seriously! And since everyone enjoyed the u-pick experiences so much this season, it was time to bring the experience to you!
Birthday Party? Baby Shower? Employee Appreciation Day? Bridal Shower? Hen Party? It's Monday and We Hate Mondays, Therefore Flowers Party?😉 Whatever your party needs, I've got you covered.

I’m loving that clean slate feeling. All of the warm-season annuals have been torn out, and I’m still working on planting seedlings and direct seeding. Still have Dahlias to dig and the tunnel to tackle but that’s a project I’m putting off until I’m over this bronchitis. Trying to take it easy. 🤣Since the weather has decided to be decently warm again for a bit, we will see what germinates! Whatever doesn’t take, I will just try again in March with seedlings but it’s worth a try, right?

I may be biased but I honestly think Zone 6 is one of the best growing zones for cut flowers. We get cold enough that we can grow most things that need a little colder winters, and most perennials and hardy annuals survive because our winters aren’t too harsh. And when I’ve been busy with wedding season and got behind on my planting, Mother Nature gives me a few weeks of beautiful weather after frost to catch up!
