*** I have been informed that this is NOT a Karner Blue, but actually an Eastern Tailed Blue. Not at all endangered. LOL. But we will persist and continue to plant our Natives in hopes that one day the Karner Blue population will have recovered enough that we may be graced by their presence! ***

I am ECSTATIC!!!

This, Friends, is the Karner Blue Butterfly and it is an endangered species. Until this week, I had never seen one before in my life and now I have TWO flitting around my flower field!!! I had no idea how tiny they were!!! I planted some native Lupines this spring that are their sole host plant but never thought I’d actually see one!!! Oh my gosh, I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am!!!! 😍😍😍 Plant those natives!!!!

Happy 4th, Flower Friends!!!

I’m so excited!!! First ✨Dahlias✨ today for Flower Stand Friday! 😍 There are a few vases and a couple of wrapped bouquets but oh my goodness I have really missed these beauties! It makes my heart so happy to be able to share some of the first stems of the season with you! 💕

The flower stand will be stocked by 9 am and it’s gonna be a hot one so I suggest coming early to get your flowers and get them out of the heat!

I will forever be obsessed with Jaime and Daniel’s wedding!!! 💕 The LOVE, their adorable pup Macy, the colors, the FLORALS. Ahhhh!!! 😍

There were so many gorgeous details and it was so so sweet. Jaime LOVES flowers, and was an absolute dream to work with, she and I had SO much fun with her design! 💕 Her floral theme was “Indiana Sunset” and not only was every single bloom grown right here in central Indiana by 6 different flower farms, we also arranged the centerpieces to create a sunset view from the head table. Sustainable, sweet, and absolutely stunning. 😍

Quick Cosmos Tip!

Did you know that cosmos CAN have good vase life? Like 7+ days? But only if you harvest at the correct stage.

I harvest at what’s called “cracked bud stage” where the bud has colored up and is starting to crack. Swipe to see what that looks like!

Our favorite dancing, ephermeral blooms are back!!! (And there will be plenty for you to cut at next weekend’s U-Pick, along with our darling ✨Dahlias✨)

Flower Stand Friday will be back tomorrow at 9am! Zane is stocking the stand for me because the little one has some medical appointments in the morning. So even if I haven’t posted about it, the stand will be up and running so come on down!

It’s been a battle against the deer snack attacks just so we can actually have flowers for you, but I think we finally found a solution. And I MIGHT have some sunflowers soon if the garlic spray keeps working to deter them! And dahlias are budding up! Eeek!!! So excited!!!
I really appreciate you bearing with us through all this, you’re the best!!!

Sorry Flower Friends! Such a cold and wet spring means our summer annuals are delayed (getting really close on some stuff but not there yet) and with a big wedding this weekend it also means I don’t have a lot of stems to go around. Plus I don’t want the flower stand bouquets to be an afterthought! They deserve to be thoughtfully curated. 💕

I appreciate all of you bearing with us through the June gap, I promise we will be drowning in flowers again very shortly!

Flower friends… I have to cancel FSF this week but we will have flowers out on Saturday!

We have a big order for our local Dance teams that needs to be filled first so Saturday it is! So sorry for the inconvenience but it will be worth the wait! 💕
