We're a destination U-Pick Flower Farm, also selling freshly-picked, ready-made bouquets. Swing by and say hi while you're exploring the beautiful nature and delicious wine nearby. Live in town and want fresh flowers on the regular? Grab one of our limited bouquet subscriptions, available for delivery! Anyone else feel like spring is here for real now? Technically it’s been spring for over a month, but in Northern Michigan we are finally getting those tell tale signs - gorgeous sunshine with chirping birds, daffodils & hyacinth sprouting up like mad, & lots of rain showers.

It felt so good to pick our first flowers over the weekend. There is something so special about picking the flowers you grow and getting to bring them inside to brighten your kitchen table or workspace.

Spring flowers are so fragrant too! Just a couple of hyacinth in a small vase next to the night stand is such a heavenly smell to sniff right before wandering off to sleep 😴🪻

We think we will be able to open the U-Pick very soon for you to come pick your own flowers too! Stay tuned…

Throwing it back to our original ideas before Moondance became Moondance! We came across these brainstorming notes for names today as we cleaned out the flower studio, and it was so fun to see!

We had some good ideas - lots of alliteration & Michigan based themes - and some not so good ideas too! But none felt very authentic or specific to us. We must have talked about our farm’s name hundreds of times on family hikes, training runs, and drives to & from Ann Arbor while we were still just dreaming and hoping the new farm would be ours someday. During one of those drives, our wedding song came on & we realized Moondance was it!

We wanted a classic song for our first dance, and importantly one we could actually dance to! Dancing was a big part of our love story - we started dating after partnering up for an event in college for Lindsay’s dance team, and the rest is history! Moondance by Van Morrison is upbeat but chill, unique yet refined, a bit whimsical & also full of passion… all things we wanted the farm and the floral work we do to represent!

So glad we got to that very authentic and personal name, and our lovely logo thanks to ! And so grateful to be able to share our dream with everyone these past 2.5 years… looking forward to so much more beauty & love with you all!

It’s been a wild end to March here in Northern Michigan.

Thanks so much to all those who have reached out after the terrible ice storm that hit - we were lucky to have no damage to our home or farm. Our hearts go out to all of those facing a different aftermath of the tough & unprecedented elements we’re experiencing. Somehow, we have a 5 year old!

Wishing a very Happy Birthday to Farmer Levi today! This bright ray of sunshine came into our lives at a wild time and has made it more vibrant & delightful ever since. We can’t imagine a life without our sweet Prince of Moondance, and can’t believe how ridiculously fast 5 years have flown by!

Current Loves:
- all things Pokémon & superheroes
- face paint, especially for school & preferably as a Pokémon or superhero
- Legos & building pretend towns, usually ends up being New York City (MUST have Statue of Liberty!)

Sending so much love & gratitude to the universe today for this amazing human’s birthday!

Farmer Mark is truly the backbone of Moondance and our family. He’s the master gardener around here of course, but also head chef, lead dog walker, chief accountant, and key handyman - he’s now redone both bathrooms and converted an office into a playroom at the farm house, re-roofed our U-Pick shed, built a fence at the farm… in just over 2 years!

To say that he’s the most motivated and thoughtful person we know would be an understatement. We can’t thank him enough for being the best dad, husband, and business partner to adventure through life with.

One of the #1 questions we get asked as flower farmers - what’s your favorite flower?

Not an easy question to answer! Usually it changes based on the season. Sometimes a specific variety of a flower type really steals our heart or just works so well with others in an arrangement.

We thought maybe we could use a little help answering this one, so we are putting together a flower challenge in honor of March Madness… welcome to MOONDANCE MADNESS! This will be a bracket style competition where flowers will go head to head each day to answer the question - what’s the best flower out there?!
