If you haven’t heard yet, we are doing our own version of bracket style challenges to determine what everyone’s favorite flower is! All 64 flowers in our bracket are grown at Moondance, and we’re excited to show you more about these amazing varieties over the next couple of weeks and get pumped up for the flower season ahead!

We’re often asked: what’s your favorite flower?
Such a hard question for us to answer! For Farmer Mark, factors like how much work it is to grow goes into the answer. For Farmer Linds, she’s thinking more about smells and how well they work on bouquets or her fave vases. Can we pick all of them?!

What do flower farmers do in the winter?
While the fields may be quiet under a blanket of snow, winter is still a busy and exciting time for us at Moondance! This season is when we step back, reflect on the year, and plan for the future.
Once the new year starts, we get back into farm mode for the upcoming season. We just finished our annual three day “Summit,” where we set aside lots of time to brainstorm how we can expand our services, create more opportunities for you to enjoy the farm, and make the work we do even better at spreading joy with flowers.
Some of the things we’re focusing on:
🌱 Planning new offerings to make visiting the farm even more special.
💐 Curating flower varieties for next season to bring fresh beauty to your homes and events. (Hint: new varieties are coming, + LOTS more Ranunculus)
🌟 Exploring ways to grow sustainably (and grow our flowers even more sustainably!) & give back to the Traverse City community.

We picked our first two pumpkins from our very own pumpkin patch this weekend! So naturally, we had to decorate them with flowers! Farmer Levi & Farmer Lindsay both wanted to make their own creations with flowers we grew from seed and pressed dry. 🤍How’d we spend our anniversary this weekend? Helping other people’s wedding dreams come true! 🤍We had so much fun designing and bringing the beautiful vision of two couples’ wedding dreams to life. The more love we can be a part of everyday, but especially our favorite day, the better! We feel so lucky to share in these moments and bring our one-of-kind Moondance Magic to other peoples’ wedding days. 🤍And of course, one of our favorite parts is reliving our favorite day together. Talking about all of our own wedding memories and celebrating all the amazing things we’ve been able to do in our marriage over the last 11 years while we work on our wedding floral design for others is the best! 🤍Working with each other is literally our dream come true, even - no especially- on our anniversary!
🌹Today’s Friday Flower Feature is utterly swoon-worthy: Roses! 🌹 To be honest, when we found out how many rose bushes there were on the farm when we bought it, we weren’t super excited. Anyone else associate roses with being kinda cheesy and just well, basic? 🌹We did too, until we met OUR roses. We tried our best to capture the stunning beauty and variety we have at Moondance Flower Farm in this video, but you really do have to come and witness it for yourself. Especially since their smell is other worldly! 🌹🌹Roses do take extra work, both with their seasonal upkeep and their thorny harvesting. But after just one season we are convinced they are 1000000% worth it! 🌹You can find our roses in our seasonal bouquet subscriptions, wedding & event florals, AND even our dried flower art and workshops!
