Happy 1st birthday to our sweet & giant farm dog Panda!

We can hardly remember life without this big fluff ball - or as Farmer Levi affectionately calls him, Lil’ Smooch. 😘 He brings us all so much joy & we feel so lucky to have him as part of the Moondance family.

He’s just over 100 pounds & still growing! Can’t wait for U-Pick season to be here again so you can come visit him!

As always, we are awestruck and exhausted and happy and hopeful and trying to process what this year brought for our business, family, & personal growth.

So many stunning scenes during our South American adventure this past month. But our favorites definitely involved the amazing flowers we saw!

It was a true treat for us flower farmers to get to experience a second peony and lilac season, in the same climate we also got to explore a glacier! Not to mention laying our eyes on some of the most fabulous tropical flowers we’ve ever seen. Catching jacaranda season in Buenos Aires & the Bougainvillea trees in Uruguay gave us purple fever 💜

So grateful for the incredible beauty that flowers bring to the world… even all the way at the end of the world in Patagonia!

Checking in from Uruguay 🇺🇾 to wish Farmer Lindsay a very Happy Birthday! 🥳

Moondance has been an absolute dream of an endeavor for our family and has changed our lives for the better - personally and professionally. Lindsay is the catalyst for these huge changes.

Since Covid, and having a child, and living through Civil Unrest in our neighborhood, and moving half way across the country, to then moving across the state… we’ve had a wild last 5 years! Personally, I (Farmer Mark) shy away from risk and am pulled towards smooth sailing (darn you, evolution!). Lindsay embraces friction, challenges the norm, manifests abundance, and encourages me to do that as well. Her optimism and constant enthusiasm for living her own dream has helped us follow happiness and understand our priorities, namely our health and time together as a family.

Lindsay is an absolute dream of a human and we are so amazingly grateful that she is our amazing wife, mom, farmer, dreamer, doer, and believer. Happy birthday, Lindsay!

Our sweet farm pup Panda is 9 months old & just passed 90 pounds 🙃

It’s hard to believe how much he’s grown since we brought him home in April, but we also can hardly remember what he was like small! He has lots of energy, but also loves cuddles at the end of the day. He definitely misses visitors now that the U-Pick done for the season.

Other current likes:
- vineyard walks (especially end of season when some scraps are on the ground)
- local wineries (guaranteed extra pets!)
- chasing Farmer Levi (bonus if he has a tasty looking stuffy in his hands)
- naps outside (really enjoying the cooler weather)

Can’t wait to keep seeing this big pup grow & enjoy his first winter!

Warm autumn days like today are amazing for fall farm work! They also bring us back to some of our stunning fall weddings, like Nicole & Stephen’s last October. Peak fall leaf colors + peak fall flowers & a whole lotta love… well, it’s hard to get much better than that.

We are doing our best to embrace every moment of this incredible fall season in Northern Michigan. Hoping you all had a fabulous fall day too 🍁

While our warm fall still has us surrounded by fresh flowers on the farm, we’re really leaning in to autumn vibes with dried florals these days. Even though we’ve been experimenting with pressed flowers since we started Moondance, it still feels like a new adventure as we begin to expand these offerings.

By the time this season is done, we will have pressed and preserved 10 bridal bouquets into everlasting artwork! But we’re also creating lots of other pieces with our handgrown organic flowers too.

We’re so excited to share more of our pressed flower art coming up soon at Wreathfest! There’s just a couple tickets left for this amazing holiday event at Boyne Mountain. We’re thrilled to be there with other amazing artists and flower lovers, & would love to see you there too!

One of the best things about growing all the flowers we use in our floral design work? We get to hand pick every flower to make each piece stunningly unique!

We especially love this for wedding party bouquets, where we can design to coordinate with each other without a set formula or being cookie cutter. Sourced right from our local flower farm, these unique arrangements support our small family biz while embodying the vibrant personalities of your wedding party. Now that our bride has received her bouquet preservation art, we can finally share this piece that Farmer Lindsay has been working on since June!

It was delightful to design the florals for Madison & Jake’s elopement, and we were thrilled when they asked us to preserve Madison’s bouquet. After the wedding, we hand pressed her flowers for about 8 weeks. After they were pressed, Linds arranged the flowers to replicate an artistic interpretation of the bouquet to keep forever as artwork 🤍

We loved it so much it was hard to part with (confession: we did hang it in our house for a couple days…). But we eventually shipped it off to the rightful owners. We hope it brings them as much joy as we witnessed on their wedding day every time they walk by.
