Northern Waves On-site Bridal Stylist and Hair by Emily at MI SALON I service areas around Traverse City, MI Thank you for your inquiry. My name is Emily Henning and I am the owner of Northern Waves, on site wedding services.

I created Northern Waves on site wedding hair styling service to assist bride's and their parties on her special day to enjoy friends, family, slippers, robes, and coffee in the comfort of their own surroundings. I also rent a chair in a salon here in Traverse called Massaggio’s Salon. This is where I provide cuts, colors, waxing, hair extensions…and pretty much anything else that pertains to hair

. I recently started Northern Waves because of my many years of experience working in a high end salon in downtown Traverse City where on a normal Saturday anything less then 5 wedding parties on that day was considered a “slow day”. I decided to branch off on my own so I can spread my love of hair and people to everyone. So, what do I have to offer? I have 17 years experience in this industry. I absolutely can say that I love my job and could never see myself retiring. I keep up to date with wedding trends while keeping knowledgeable on vintage flare. I have been trained by some of the leading names from coast to coast in all areas of hair. I am now able to offer my services at an affordable cost and convenient location, especially for your wedding day!

Thank you for your inquiry. My name is Emily Henning Woods and I am the owner of Northern Waves, on site wedding services. Additionally, I am co-owner of MI Salon in Traverse City, MI. This is where I provide cuts, colors, waxing, hair extensions…and pretty much anything else that pertains to hair. I launched Northern Waves about 6 years ago because of my many years of experience working in a high end salon in beautiful downtown Traverse City where on a normal Saturday anything less then 5 wedding parties- that day was considered a “slow day”. I decided to branch off on my own so I can spread my love of hair, my fondness for learning and my desire to bring one’s inner beauty out.

So, what do I have to offer? I have 15 years experience in this industry and 5 consecutive awards for top overall performance. I absolutely can say that I love my job and could never see myself retiring. I keep up to date with wedding trends while keeping knowledgeable on vintage flare. I have been trained by some of the leading names from coast to coast in all areas of hair. I am now able to offer my passion in a convenient location, especially for your wedding day!
