Aunt Martha

Martha, the aunt of the owner’s wife Catherine, was a giver through and through. She devoted her life to taking care of her family (her parents, brothers, and their families). Martha spent years cooking and baking everything you could want and think of… Homemade pastas, sauces, and meatballs to desserts like- cookies, cakes, and funnel cakes. As Martha grew older, as well as, her nieces and nephews, she started to teach them all her “secret” recipes; and her niece Catherine started writing these recipes down and continued to make them for her family. A few years after Martha died, Catherine’s husband William wanted to start a vending business to take into festivals and fairs. It did not take long to figure out what they were going to sell and who they were going to name the business after. Aunt Martha’s Funnel Cakes was founded in 1990 and this family owned business has continued honoring her memory ever since.
