When I was freshly 25 years old and starting this business, I had a lot of supporters—and a few skeptics questioning my moves. I was leaving behind my job as an elementary school teacher to take a huge leap and risk. As I was explaining my idea to family, my uncle asked, “So, who’s the adult that will be at these parties?” I responded, “Uh, me?” He asked again, “No, like a real adult.”
“I just wrapped up a year teaching 27 ten-year-olds, I am the adult.”
