Catherine and Rohan honored their marriage and cultures in their own way. Following an intimate ceremony with me officiating they had an intimate Hindu ceremony right after. There were so many sweet and personal moments of their day and I especially loved it when Catherine disappeared in between for some “touch ups” and actually surprised Rohan as she returned for the Hindu ceremony adorned in a beautiful saree, bringing Rohan to tears. It was such a beautiful experience to be invited to and share in the joy with their families. These two have climbed mountains to get to this place in life together, and I’m so grateful that they had such a special day surrounded by family supporting them.

The moment I met Amanda and Tori I just knew their wedding was going to be a forever favorite and I felt so honored to be a part of their most cherished day.

They are so considerate of each other, their families and friends and yes, style too obviously. To top it all off, their wedding took place in one of my all time favorite towns, Nevada City at such a cool historical Gold Country venue 💛
with 13 of their gorgeous friends surrounding them at the altar. In real life it was quite a stunnah, captured the beauty just perfectly as if we can all feel we are there. I’m so excited to show these amazing brides off, I’m literally tearing up and hyped as I’m trying to pick out the ten pics for this post.

It snowed today!
Just a little but we’ll take it.
It’s winter elopement season and I have a few coming up with , it’s just so beautiful to have the mountains snow capped all around us.

Sonja and Jim celebrated their 2 year anniversary by getting married on 2-2-22.
These brave souls didn’t mind our freezing tempts as they trekked behind Ruthanne for all the gorgeous scenic shots! Coming from Minnesota 30* actually felt warm!

Lindsey and Ahmad’s summer elopement at Tahoe’s Sugarpine Point State Park, was just the sweetest 💜
Surrounded by 10 of their family members, the day was simple and so full of celebration and support for these two gorgeous humans to join their lives as one.

Ahmad comes from a large family who all reside on the east coast and a reception is planned for the near future.
Yay! For intimate ceremonies and yay for big parties, the best of both worlds.

These sweet intimate moments and the feelings that generate that I have the opportunity to share in are so difficult to describe, but I’ll try. I entered into this day as a sort of stranger. Yes, I had some brief video meetings and correspondences with the couple just a month prior, however the family had no idea who I was or what to expect. Then, it just happens, I deliver the touching ceremony, we share a deep space and for a brief moment in time I am bonded to those who were strangers just minutes before.
I was invited for cake and champagne following, we laughed, took photos, and hugged goodbye. For a moment I felt like I was part of the family 💜

I planned to share this gorgeous celebratory photo by and elegant wedding of Corinne and Akio for a New Year’s post. I loved every moment of being their officiant and it’s so fun to revisit their special day 🥂

Well it’s still January, it’s not too late to wish you all a happy new year! 🤩
Here I am back on the gram to continue the regular scheduled programming of sharing more of the fabulous 2021 weddings and bringing you more joy, beauty and happiness that is coming our way for 2022!

🥂 Corinne and Akio met in college and now live in Colorado. Corinne has a Tahoe family vacation home on the west shore, and it’s where Akio proposed.
It was just so special to bring their dearest to and celebrate their love and commitment in marriage on such a beautiful summer weekend.
🎻 An extra special detail was Akio’s mom and cousins played violins for the processional and recessional 🎻
The altar was so visually stunning with a wedding party of 20 and countless flowers surrounding everyone 🥂
And it’s always so sweet when the couple gets a few moments post ceremony cruising on the lake with 🚤

Now that I have my phone back I can share this last leg of our journey. 💜
We took a ferry from Sicily to Malta, spent four days over New Year’s and flew back to Rome.
We had a beautiful sunset from the top of St. Peter’s Basilica to complete our adventure.

Malta, a gorgeous tiny bustling melting pot of a country with an incredible coastline full of inlets that create the perfect protection for countless marinas, and a very special walled city.

Since we’ve been home we have been facing Covid around every corner and the kids are back to distance learning I just feel so incredibly fortunate and that we must have some pretty dedicated guardian angels watching over us.

The sites, cultures, geography were all amazing, though my favorite parts were the moments in between, the journey not the destination. It was the early morning walks through sleepy towns and lit up temples to catch a train or watching the sunrise over the Med on a two mile palm lined path to the port that will be what I appreciate most. I’m so impressed with my kids stepping up, following our path with no question but also guiding unknowingly, being organized and showing us new perspectives while experiencing a different pace along the way. 💜

Merry Everything!
Sharing pics from our travels, currently in Palermo and headed to the countryside of Sicily tomorrow.
There’s so much to take in, my senses are overloaded, it’s overall a dream to be sharing these experiences with my kids. It feels miraculous we have been able to pull this off, it’s been smooth thus far, definitely a lot to navigate.

I recently posted this selfie on my stories and typed,
“Crown Chakra Activated” 👑
just because of the sunlight beaming over my head. This was taken just minutes before my last wedding of 2021, my busiest year. Wow, my seventh year as a professional officiant and there were times that stripped me to my core, to remind me that I’m still growing.
Guess how many ceremonies I performed this year?
🌟
Since reflecting on this most incredible year I realize just how proper this “Crown Chakra” photo is.
When couples marry in my presence as their officiant an indescribable experience occurs, it’s very elevated.
A special energy is created between the partners, when guests witness they often feel it and for many it hits them by surprise.
🌀
In a literal sense, we are just people standing in a place and I am saying words that the couple already feels and expects me to share. Though, time after time emotions are triggered, there’s a magical essence that ignites, nerves are heightened, and hearts explode open with more love than one knew they had, all within the experience that is created for their marriage ceremony.
✨
After every ceremony I walk away super jazzed, I call it the marrying buzz and I’m recharged. No matter what I end up doing for the rest of my day, I go about life feeling renewed and restored about the power of human connection.
I feel better connected to a higher consciousness or state of being, all thanks to my couples’ loving relationships. I’m so grateful for the opportunity from each and every one of my couples. For letting me in, for being your pure vulnerable selves, for trusting me.

So at this point of the year following numerous ceremonies just imagine the state I’m in, so very elevated. I may seem in the clouds sometimes especially the same evening of a wedding.
It’s no wonder that so far during this down time I’ve been honestly quite lazy, of course continuing mothering always, but at the same time taking breaks and giving myself time to slow down, to take it all in and holding my new baby niece as much as possible.

Our last snow storm before today came by surprise back in early October on Arielle and Stetson’s wedding day

It was super cold and the ground was crunchy and wet, but so worth it for how beautiful the contrast of the fall leaves and snow. The colors and style of every detail just looked so fitting and stunning.

I had my final wedding of 2021 with Bailie and Blaine at one of my favorite venues with a favorite planner, Kyleigh with Kyleigh Stewart]

The resort during this holiday season is so festive and cozy.
The ceremony was so fun with these two, they brought a lot of laughs and giggles and they have such a deep connection, you could just feel it.

I’m sure they found their way to the ice rink for the reception ⛸ as they met on an ice rink and a few years later Blaine proposed on an ice rink 💍

What a lovely celebration to complete such an incredible year of marrying 🥂

Before we say goodbye to fall I need to revisit this gorgeous autumn elopement and give this sweet little fam some love.

Laura and Tyler came out from Florida and brought their cutie lil fur baby Ruxpin to be a part of their wedding. They got so lucky that our aspen trees were in full glory on their wedding day, and they got fall vibes in full effect.

My favorite detail is that Ruxpin’s custom doggy suit was the first thing that they ordered and then themed Tyler’s suit and the flowers based off of the color.

My favorite memory is when Tyler shared with Ruthanne that she made their whole experience soooooooo easy and soooooo fun. Way more fun and relaxing than he had anticipated.

My anniversary twins!
Tessie and Grant were so fired up to finally have their wedding after postponing and formulating many alternative plans.
Their day was full of all the feels and beautiful moments on such a warm July day .
Their family and friends were such a pleasure to meet and it is just so perfect to officiate another couple into marriage on my own wedding anniversary, 18th for me!

I’m so thrilled that Molly and Nolan stuck with their plans to fly out from Kentucky for their micro wedding even though the wildfires prevented them from marrying in Tahoe.

They gave their photographer full reigns to choose a new location that wasn’t affected by smoke or fires.
Molly and Nolan just wanted scenery that felt and looked different from their home, they didn’t want to cancel, or postpone.
They had so much anticipation built up to celebrate their marriage out west with their closest friends and family. I’m so glad they trusted Heather to help them.
She certainly delivered!

I’m always going to love the recessional photo.
Danessa and Rafael exude so much joy, and the crepe butterflies are so perfect! 🎉

These two recently moved out west from New Jersey for Danessa’s career with Tesla. Rafael can work remotely and they’ve had so much fun exploring Reno/Tahoe this past year and they’re headed down the coast with their pups for a road-tripping honeymoon.
For much of their family it was their first time to Tahoe, and they were all treated to all of our seasons for their visit 😉 ❄️ 🍁
Luckily it was all fall for the wedding day, the light was cozy, the temps just right and a beautiful sunset to top it off.

I loved the elegant Latin flair with everyone’s styles, Rafael’s family Brazilian and Danessa’s Cuban, it was a beautiful family reunion to celebrate these two full of so much love and support.
With all the encouragement and support these two have for each other, you can see the bright future that lies ahead, I’m so excited for them!

Laura and Jim’s elopement was so beautiful 💖
It was so fitting for these adventurous spirits.
I’m so glad we all had the flexibility to postpone. Their original date was during our devastating wildfires, and wow, what a relief and I’m so grateful to be able to say this while looking back from the other end.

Their vows and private ceremony were soooooooo romantic and I feel so honored to have been a part💖
