Here is a friendly reminder not to stress about your vows! We have three recommendations to help you write your vows.

1. Start by saying your partner’s name. This helps remind you who these vows are for. You and your partner, not anyone else.
2. Write about the beginning of your relationship and work towards the wedding day. You should add a few moments from your life together. Take time when writing to think about how you got to that moment when you say I do.
3. Finnish with your promises to one another. Vows are truly about what you want for your marriage together. When you took time to think about your relationship think about the reasons you love one another. This is when you can remind your partner about all the reasons you love them.

We are a tight knit community living a small mountain town lifestyle. When something happens to someone in our community, we all lean on each other to support and help how we can. It is one of the many reasons Tahoe & Truckee is such a special place.
Over the past week, we’ve been focusing our social efforts on sharing and posting about missing 16 year old and Truckee local, Kiely Rodni. Our hearts are heavy for her family and this entire community as the search for this beloved local continues. With the heavy police force and FBI involved, we are hopeful she will be found very soon.
I have felt conflicted about posting our regular wedding and Tahoe content with such a serious situation going on. But I know so many of you count on us for this content so we will resume posting while we continue to share updates on the search for Kiely.

PLEASE SHARE! Kiely Rodni is 16 and is still missing. She was last seen late Friday night at a party in Prosser getting into her car. Since then, she has completely vanished.

Authorities are treating this as an abduction case. They need more people who attended the party Friday night at Prosser to come forward. Apparently teens and young adults flocked to the party from the Bay Area, auburn, Sacramento, and beyond. If you know anyone who attended or if you have seen this young girl, please call the tip line:

We need your help! Late Friday night, a local Truckee teenager went missing after attending a party. She was last seen around 12:30am and nobody has seen or heard from her since.
The police are considering abduction and asking everyone to be on the lookout for both Kiely and her vehicle.

I spent the better part of today with a group of community members driving around dirt roads, looking in ditches, and trying to retrace her possible tracks. It was emotional and daunting to say the least. Her friends are working closely with police to run the search team but they need everyone’s help. Sacramento, Bay Area, So Cal, Reno and beyond friends, please be on the look out for her car and report any findings.

We fell head over heels in love with the details of Chelsea and Mike’s intimate wedding near Sand Harbor.⁠
⁠
After postponing their wedding twice due to Covid, the couple hatched a plan to drive cross country in their Subaru Outback with their dog and elope in Tahoe. Chelsea’s parents live in Truckee, and she hadn’t seen them in a year and a half since the pandemic began. So the trip would be an epic chance for the couple to get out of their cramped Brooklyn apartment, where they’d been quarantining and explore more of the US. In addition, Tahoe has been an extraordinary place for the couple throughout their relationship — so this new plan felt highly sentimental.⁠
⁠
The duo opted for a first look in the backyard of Chelsea’s parent’s house and then headed to Tahoe to make it official. With the help of the incredible VILD Photography, they narrowed down options for an intimate elopement on the lake and landed on Memorial Point near Sand Harbor. The pair had also chartered Grand Tahoe Charters iconic Wild Goose II for a post-ceremony send-off. Even though the conditions on the lake were too rough to launch, the lovely folks at Grand Tahoe Charters were kind enough to let the couple swing by the dock for a few portraits on the boat.⁠

The wedding was filled with unique elements. Chelsea wore the dress she initially had picked out for her rehearsal dinner, and it ended up being the perfect elopement dress. On the other hand, Mike wore a custom suit featuring a hidden monogram under the collar that said "Talkin' Tahoe" — a reference from one of the couple's favorite shows, Curb Your Enthusiasm.⁠

Dan and Callie's charming mountain wedding came to life at the historic Graeagle Picnic Ground, and to say that we love it is an understatement! ⁠
⁠
The couple met just a few days before Christmas in 2017. Dan was about to jump on a plane home but knew he needed to meet Callie before leaving for a week. The couple met at a cute little wine bar called ⁠Roses, where they sipped wine, talked about their hobbies, and shared their deepest dreams. As Callie returned home, she immediately told her roommate she would marry this guy. Fast forward two and a half years later, Dan was on one knee at their favorite lookout spot on the Sierra Buttes. And, of course, the family was there to witness the most special day in their lives so far. ⁠

As you can tell, Graeagle is a special place for the couple. Not only did Dan's family have a cabin there since the 70s, but Dan grew up going to the sand pond and hiking the Buttes. He introduced Callie to Graeagle shortly after they started dating, and it's needless to say that she fell in ⁠love with the place too. It's also the place where they spread Dan's grandpa's ashes, so it only made sense to get married there as well. And the result was nothing short of magical! ⁠

When planning a wedding, it's normal to hit a few bumps in the road. This also rang true for Kendal and Devon's big day. At one point, their biggest worry was whether or not Kendal's dress was going to arrive on time. But then, COVID-19 struck, followed by two postponements, two venue changes, and a few tough decisions.⁠⁠
⁠⁠
Luckily, the couple didn't let a few obstacles get in their way, and they finally exchanged vows in the picturesque Tahoe. Seeing that they recently purchased their first home together in nearby Truckee, this stunning, woodsy location was the logical backdrop.⁠⁠

With the help of some incredibly talented vendors, Kendal and Devon planned a beautiful ceremony and reception for their immediate families. They enlisted the help of floral talent, Love & Lupines, for the most remarkable triangular ceremony backdrop. And we can all agree that Kendal was a bohemian dream, glammed up by the beauty team, Kiss & Makeup Tahoe. Jess from Cheers Babe Photo captured the beautiful day in such an inspiring way alongside wedding films creators, The Hubs Films. "These low-key, paired-back celebrations have been so beautiful and meaningful. They take weddings back to what they're genuinely about – a union of two people. Ben and Sarah’s elopement is what destination wedding dreams are made of. Their closest friends and family watched as they tied the knot in one of the most beautiful places on earth: Lake Tahoe.⁠⁠

In 2016, Ben and Sarah attended a mutual friend’s 30th birthday party at a brewery in Cincinnati, Ohio. And it’s safe to say that they walked away with a lot more than what they bargained on, even though they only began dating a year and a half later. After convincing Sarah that he wouldn’t be proposing for a while, Ben popped the question on the beach in Florida. They quickly began planning their special day and designed a wedding that matches their personalities. The result? A winter wonderland saga like no other!⁠⁠
