"Truckee Community Theater was nominated last year as the best non-profit organization by the Chamber of Commerce. It has been extremely gratifying bringing live community theater back to Truckee and involving residents of all ages in our productions. We are proud to present award-winning plays and Broadway-style musicals, summer camps for kids and teens, improv and acting workshops for all ages, and even a 10 Minute Play Festival each year showcasing original work from local writers. Recently, our Board was pleased to learn of Truckee’s selection by the State of California as a Cultural Arts District. With that new recognition comes the realization that a dedicated space for the performing arts is appropriate and necessary as we grow into an ever more thriving community offering dance, theater, live music, and other events to our enthusiastic patrons. I am thrilled to support the Stages at Northstar project, and eager to see the culmination of this dream, shared by many artists here in Truckee and Tahoe, to have our own performance space in this beautiful mountain area."

The Stages at Northstar will fill a cultural gap in our community. As evidenced by research conducted exclusively for The Stages by New York-based Webb Management Services—North America's leading provider of development, planning and consulting services for arts and creative entities, our communities are currently experiencing a cultural deficit and lack local theater services such as a larger regional performing arts facility. The Stages will give our community access to a multitude of arts – both performing and visual – bringing the best of the world to our region.

The Stages at Northstar will be a facility that attracts visitors, inspires residents and cultivates the passions and talents of our future generations. The Stages will provide a substantial positive economic impact to not only Northstar Resort, but the North Tahoe Region, as well, and will rival other premier mountain resort communities’ performing arts facilities. Travelers will mark it as a must-experience performance venue.

The Stages will be a learning workshop for youth and adults through collaboration with local schools, the community college, and universities. Summer programs in both visual and performing arts will be offered for youth from the U.S. and other countries to learn the crafts of staging and performances. Collaborations with neighboring communities will make The Stages a far-reaching educational and cultural resource.

Research consistently shows that a strong and dynamic arts environment brings significant benefits to residents and visitors. The Lake Tahoe area does not have a regional performing, visual, and cultural arts center on par with other mountain resort destinations. This is about to change.
Featuring an approximate 60,000-square-foot complex, The Stages at Northstar contains three primary theatres and other space for diverse programming and multi-use events. It is designed as a regional theatre complex to complement surrounding community theatres and existing arts events with programming that can accommodate world-class, year-round performances and cultural opportunities.

Renowned for its incredible crystal blue water and stunning mountain views, the largest alpine lake in the United States and its surrounding communities draw outdoor enthusiasts, hopeless romantics, and those seeking respite from a hectic world. Now one of the most iconic destinations in the country will feature a long-needed new amenity bringing economic vitality, superlative entertainment, greater support and exposure for local arts groups, world-class performances, life-long learning, and cultural excitement to the region.
