The Holidays feel just magical don't they?

So I can understand the appeal when many proposals come through around the holidays.

But what about a wedding during this time?

Here are our pros and cons to doing wedding during this time:

Pros:
- Decor.... candles laced up with silver and gold trimmings 😍
- Families comes home for the holidays...
- Snowfall is romantic and a beautiful photo opt...

Cons:
- Expense... most venues will add additional charges for holiday events
- Weather... can be tricky
- Family.... families have their own holiday time planned too

So when it comes to planning your wedding around the holidays thinking about your number of guest and location are key.

One of our favorite looks is black and white.

So simple. So elegant. So practical.

I mean, the white and ivory flower combination are endless:

Periwinkle....
White Hyacinth....
Rhododendron....
White Pim....
Dahlia....
Daffodil....
Calandiva....

And for the black think:
Chairs
Napkins
Suits

Then add a simple gold or silver or even greenery element (if you'd like) and POW, you've got a timeless and elegant wedding.

Calling all those with a major sweet tooth 🙋‍♀️

Here are our tips for a wedding cake that both tastes delicious AND compliments your wedding:

1. You don’t have to go with trends or what Grandma Mary wants, choose the flavors YOU love.

2. Decided on your wedding cake 3 to 6 months out. It's best to already have your colors, flowers and other design elements picked out before you decided your cake design.

3. Cupcakes or cake? Consider the venue you're getting married at. Most places will actually charge you a cake cutting fee! The solution? Have a small cake for you and your betrothed and cupcakes for everyone else!

You have the rings, dress, marriage license and maybe two friends or family that can keep a secret as your witnesses…. Casa Louisa is the perfect venue for your Elopement or vow renewal. Our Garden Oasis is the perfect private setting to say your, “I Do’s”.

We include a personalized bouquet and boutonniere, a 6” wedding cake, champagne or sparkling cider for a toast, table and chair setup with linens, cake plates and champagne flutes for your toast, an officiant and 2 hours of venue use for photographs. Reservations must be made 7 days prior to your elopement

Don't do it just for tradition.

Throwing your bouquet is common, but what if instead you...gift your bouquet.

We heard of a bride that gave her bouquet to a grandmother who was elderly and couldn't make it to the wedding. They learned that the grandma dried that bouquet and treasured it till her death several years later.

Follow the beat of your own drum.

We get it, we're crafty too. So when it comes to your wedding you either want to save money and/or you love getting your hands dirty.

Here are a few tips when it comes to creating your own decor for your wedding:

1. Use items from your home.
2. Use candles to transforms your space
3. Add florals and greens
4. Rent or borrow items to save $$
5. Think simple and manageable

Only consider doing your own decor if it's something that lights you up. Make it a fun event and invite friends and family over to help.
