Sometimes the photographer needs to step in front of the camera, too. 📸❤️
While in NYC for the Focus & Fire photography event, I had the incredible opportunity to have my own headshot taken by Sanjeev Singal of
But this image represents so much more than a new headshot for my business.
It was taken at the end of an incredible week surrounded by photographers, models, artists, and creative. The countless conversations, laughs, lessons, long days, beautiful images, and memories that I will carry with me for a very long time.
As a photographer, one of my favorite parts of experiences like this is getting the opportunity to watch other photographers work. Watching Sanjeev behind the camera was exactly that: watching a master of his craft.
Every photographer sees people differently. We each communicate differently, light differently, direct differently, and ultimately bring something different out of the person standing in front of us. Being able to observe that process, learn from it, and then experience it myself from the other side of his camera was something truly special.
And when I look at this photograph, I'll remember exactly where I was, who I was surrounded by, how much I learned, how much we laughed, and just how special that week in New York truly was.
