Tucson Friday Open Mic at Reid Park

Sorry there haven’t been many shows this year. There have been more venue conflicts than usual this year, as well as some weather issues and conflicts of my own. And now the park is suddenly so overrun with homeless people that it doesn’t feel safe enough to continue. So I’m going to end it, at least until something changes. If anyone has any insight into what is going on at RP and whether it is likely to improve, please let me know.

Hello everyone, it looks like we’re losing the use of the amphitheater area, so we’re suspending the open mic until we are able to find a solution. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks everyone for a great year!

Hello everyone, Reid Park Open Mic is going to be taking a break due to the deteriorating COVID-19 situation. I think there are good arguments for and against this decision, but we’re going to go with the county’s guidance to keep activity to a minimum during this time when hospitals are near capacity. We’ll start up again when we think we can do it with an acceptable safety margin. Please spread the word.
