Making some custom ordered arrangements for Saturday morning. Enjoy watching me transform greenery and hellebores from my wintry landscape into beautiful arrangements.
♥️ Why We Don’t Offer Valentine’s Day Flowers ♥️
It is a great frustration that one of the largest “flower holidays” lands in the middle of winter for flower farmers. But we do not offer flowers for several important seasons. These are specific to us and our convictions:
💚 We want to provide *only* locally grown flowers. When you buy from us, every flower will have grown in Oregon soil
💚We care about quality - imported flowers are covered in pesticides and fungicides that we don’t want to handle ourselves nor sell
💚 Conditions - many imports are grown by near slave labor in South America. We don’t want to be a part of that economy
💚 Vase life - we pride ourselves on growing the longest lasting flowers. Imports are near dead when they arrive and often barely last a week
💚 Supporting American - we want to be a part of the growing Buy Local movement that prioritizes American made products and relying less on foreign trade
💚 In Season - there is a reason an in season peach or tomato tastes so much better than a winter grocery store version. Flowers and their quality are the same. So we wait with anticipation for the in season blooms to come.
It is hard not to have FOMO during this time because I desperately want flowers again but it is a good exercise in patience as we wait.
But if you are still looking for a flower focused gift this Valentine’s Day, why not give 5 WEEKS of flowers instead of just 1? Grab your loved one a Charming Blooms Society Bouquet Subscription and gift over a month’s worth of locally grown Oregon flowers. Details on our website or link in comments. Forward the link to husband with a hint hint 😉

Fertilizer Friday grow tent update!
I'm getting ready for the Harvest Festival tomorrow.
This witch cast too big of a growth spell and ended up with some oversized zucchini. Kids can stop by the booth this Saturday at @yesteryearfarmswilsonville and guess the weight of the zucchini. If they are right, they get to take it home. homegrown #giantvegetable .
