Dec 3 I thought my life as a chef was over. The doctors weren't sure if I would have use of my dominant hand again. My wrist was severed through the main tendon that all the tendons in the hand come together and control hand function. Cut through nerves and muscle as well.
I have built (and AM building) a Legacy based on my passion, talent and ability to pour into others. I can't explain the fear and grief that has gripped me for the past several weeks. My team has come together to make sure things run as smooth as possible in the face of such adversity.
3 days ago I got my stitches removed. They're concerned about nerve function but believe i will have use of my hand again. It's just going to be a long process of healing and physical therapy. Maybe over a year. REGARDLESS I have been in the kitchen, continuing to provide direction to the team even though mostly verbal. I'm learning a new level of patience but definitely a big opportunity for growth there ๐
I am learning not to be one to say "because I did this, you should too!" As we all have different experiences, tolerance, and sensitivity to certain things. . What I do hope is that any one who has followed my life and watched the growth and redemption of my family, of Carabelle's Legacy, Inc. Carabelle's Eats & Treats and Carabelle's Micro Cafe would find exactly what they needed, take it, and run with it. I've heard so many people take so many abstract lessons and interpretations of my story, most of them inspiring ME all over again ๐.
Thank you to our clients old and new for having faith in us to continue our PURPOSE in building community by sharing our talents and creations with you through food.
Thank you to everyone who has stepped in to fill the spot temporarily, and everyone willing to come help continue to make Carabelle's a success during the busiest season of the year.
We do have a spot open for a Chef De Cuisine for 2025, if you or someone you know would be interested in joining our team. They can apply at https://www.indeed.com/job/chef-de-cuisine-6dba3f0f10f199f5
Thank you for the continued prayers of wholeness and healing and God bless y'all.
