918 Comedy

I am really loving our new Monday and Tuesday comedy open mics. It has helped me work out some newer material for upcoming shows. Tulsa has a great comedy scene with open mics on Sunday, Monday, two on Tuesday, four on Wednesday. and one on Thursday.

I am doing little bits at Mayfest on both Friday and Saturday, hosting two shows at the Grove in Arkansas on Sunday (3:30 and 6:00), hosting a fun show the following Saturday at Speakeasy Lounge, doing a cancer benefit on Sunday at Detour, and a show at a local brewery to end the month.

I pride myself on working on comedy sets for all types of audiences and particularly for family friendly crowds. Clean comedy is rare in these parts and many comics cannot work clean and often club promoters know it is a hard sell for tickets. But some of the funniest never use bad language or talk of body parts and they are my favorites.

There is a local comic who works hard to build comedy crowds and comics who can tell jokes that the kids and grandmother can hear too. Adam Bush Comedy has worked hard to find or encourage local comics to do clean material and has a show tomorrow at the The Loony Bin Comedy Club - Tulsa that I and a few other comics are proud to be included in.

Props go out to the club for helping and believing that Tulsans will want more clean comedy. Tulsa has a great comedy scene with eight open mics a week, showcases almost as often, and two professional comedy clubs. You can support local comedy by coming to see this show. Happy to announce a new Tuesday Comedy open mic in Tulsa!
Keels Lounge at 5116 E. Pine is a wonderful dive bar with cheap beer and completely 420 friendly. The owner and bartender are very nice and are excited to hear all the funny from the comedy community.

Spencer Mills hosts and Brittney behind the bar plus Tulsa comics. Every Tuesday with sign-ups at 7:30 and starts at 8:00

Broken Arrow loves Comedy! These shows are every first and third Friday. starting at 8:00 pm. What a great lineup for this show. Trever Carreon just got back from his Texas tour, Stetson Banks comes in from the successful Arkansas comedy scene he helps create, and headliner Ronnie Glenn Williams is coming down from Wichita.

We are going to do a showcase comedy show using the best sets from local open mics. Three different comedy open mics will pick two nights per month to make the shows a BEST SET show. The host will pick a BEST SET of the night and that comic will be put on a paid show the following month.

The following are the open mics to qualify for the winners showcase:

Tuesday nights at Albatross Lounge hosted by Shawna Blake
Wednesday nights at Hunt Club hosted by Zach Amon and Devo
Thursday nights at Eerie Abbey Ales hosted by Bradly Mcpherson

Those hosts will decide which weeks are qualifying weeks.

The first six comics who win a BEST SET night will perform at a show on Saturday December 11th at Deco Lounge.

Please pass the word to other comics and help make comedy open mics even better for comics trying to get stage time.
