Fifame Oussa Alahassa: The Chef & Owner Behind Afrikan Delights

Born and raised in the vibrant West African country of Benin, Fifame Oussa Alahassa grew up surrounded by the bold flavors, aromas, and traditions of African cuisine. After completing her high school education, she moved to the United States to pursue higher education, earning a Master's Degree in Public Health from Oklahoma State University. She is a cowboy 🤠 🤗

Despite her academic pursuits, Fifame's passion for cooking and sharing her culture never wavered. In fact, it only intensified. She often found herself cooking for friends and family, sharing stories of her homeland and the significance of each dish. It was through these shared experiences that she realized the power of food to bring people together and transcend cultural boundaries.

Fifame's love for cooking was ignited by her late mother, who taught her everything she knows about traditional West African cuisine. From a young age, Fifame would watch her mother prepare elaborate meals for their family and community, learning the intricacies of each dish and the stories behind them. Her mother's recipes, passed down through generations, are the foundation of Afrikan Delights' menu, and Fifame is proud to share them with the Oklahoma community.

At Afrikan Delights, Fifame is committed to using only the freshest ingredients to create dishes that are both authentic and innovative. From her signature jollof rice to her sweet puff puff , every bite is a taste of Africa's rich culinary heritage.

We were honored to cater for 'Wishes for Water', a non-profit organization dedicated to providing sustainable and clean water sources to schools in rural Zimbabwe.

At Afrikan Delights, we're passionate about supporting causes that benefit Africa as a whole, as well as initiatives that positively impact communities around the world. We believe that kindness, compassion, and generosity can transcend borders and make a meaningful difference in people's lives.

It was a delightful experience meeting the young and dedicated team from Oklahoma State University (OSU) who are making a tangible difference in people's lives.

Some moments truly remind us why we pour our hearts into what we do ❤️. After a long day at the Tulsa Premium Outlet Mall, everything was shut down, packed up, and ready to go. Just as we were about to leave, two ladies pulled up 🚗. They’d driven all the way from Broken Arrow, hoping to taste the best West African flavors in Tulsa 🍲. They told us how they’d missed us last weekend as we weren't opened and didn’t want to miss their chance again. Their excitement was so heartfelt 💕, we couldn’t turn them away. Without hesitation, we reopened, fired everything back up 🔥, and prepared them a fresh, delicious meal. They even finished their food right there in the parking lot! Their gratitude and joy lit up the night ✨, and moment like these remind us why we're so passionate about what we do. 🌍💛.❤️
