Why do I love photographing people? Because I am learning each day how rich I am to love and be loved by those around me❤️ Here’s my life recently, me and the babies. Being a mother and wife has been the most rewarding challenge of my life so far - Praise be to God!

And I just think it’s so special when we can capture even a small glimpse of that beauty. For one fraction of a second, a moment like this existed…and it will never exist again. God is weaving together His glorious plan for all of creation, and I feel as though photography is a way I’ve been gifted to share in that unfolding story that the Lord has made. And this one small moment that is captured, whether or not it felt “special” in the moment, I am SURE will feel increasingly special and more valuable as the years go by…more of your story has unfolded…your babies have grown into husbands and wives…and you are now staring in the eyes of your grandchildren. I am sure that then is when our photographs like these will have been worth it.

Photographs show where you are in the present time, but more importantly, they show where you have been.

I photographed a handful of weddings this year, but the Lord also brought a ton of families my way this year which was unexpectedly wonderful! Weddings tend to lead to families in the following years, so seeing and documenting the fruit of a marriage has filled my heart in a new way. Not to mention that I am in the same season of raising little ones!

So a special thank you to everyone - brides, grooms, moms and dads, grandparents…the list goes on…who have shared their lives with me through photography this year. Thank you and happy new year! God bless!

The best detail shots are the ones that aren’t set up. My artsy brain likes to set things up to look perfectly pretty, but my heart likes the moments that are already unfolding without my direction. Every session, every wedding, every photograph, is a balancing act.

Also, it’s been a while since I’ve been on the feed. That’s ok😄 But hello friends - I’m still here with my too many cameras holstered on me and dragging in the bag behind me.

Most of the time, my favorite photos are taken in the moments between the “actual photos” that are planned out. Surely I was running back inside to grab the rest of my camera gear right before the ceremony started, and I stumbled upon the wedding party waiting to get in position for the ceremony. They were relaxed, laughing, enjoying these last couple of moments. It’s always refreshing to my soul to capture real smiles 🥹

Sunset portraits on the golf course and a quick shoe change on the golf cart ride back to the reception👟👟 I can’t express how grateful I am for each of my couples that showed me immense kindness, gratitude, and vulnerability as they welcome me into their wedding day to document it. Currently enjoying endless newborn snuggles, but am also looking forward to wedding days ahead💗 Currently taking inquires for summer 2023 and all of 2024.

This last year marked a year of pursuing images that couldn’t be replicated at another wedding. That mostly looked like focusing in on moments, emotions, and people that were only true and accurate to a specific couples day…but that also looked like stepping out of my comfort zone to bring along a camera or two that I wouldn’t have dared to bring to a wedding years prior. This stretched me creatively and I’m so glad I did it! Like this photo of Jackson and his groomsmen, taken on a plastic camera with only a few buttons and 12 frames per roll of film. Definitely keeping this little camera in my bag for 2023 weddings and ready to experiment with it more😋

More from this day soon…the end of the year has me (and every other photographer) editing away these last few sessions. This year has truly been incredible and I don’t feel as though I’ve been able to express that fully. I’ve seen some of the most beautiful weddings but I’ve witnessed even more beautiful moments within those days. I’ve been pondering greatly on how the Lord will lead me and my photography next year. Wedding days are becoming more intriguing to me, and how I photograph them, I pray, becomes more intriguing as well. After Lauren saw her Dad for the first time as a bride, her mom and brother followed down the hallway to be with them. The way families interact with one another on a wedding day is so intriguing…and for them this was a joyful yet tender moment. Mom and Dad embracing each other made my heart melt!
