Artcore proudly presents the official reissue of the Moscow 7” EP by N.O.T.A., a true hardcore punk classic from Oklahoma in 1984. The EP features four songs remixed from the original tapes by Martin Halstead, who made the original recordings; ‘This Country (Once Was Free)’, ‘The Enemy’, ‘Taking Away Your Rights’, and ‘Moscow’. The recordings were also then remastered to breathe new life and power into this gem of U.S. hardcore history. The original sleeve has been expanded into a 12 page booklet containing the original lyric sheets, photos, flyers and band history, the 7” is on random colour vinyl (charcoal grey/black) and contains a download code of the blazing digital versions. Finally, to top off the release there is the option of a short run of N.O.T.A. Moscow t-shirts, white print on black Gildan Ultra shirts that are only available with the zine and extremely limited blue vinyl version 7” from Boss Tuneage while stocks last (sold out).

The demo impressed Maximum RockNRoll enough to include the demo song “Propaganda Control” on their international punk compilation “Welcome To 1984.” Includes five unreleased songs from 1982, with new liner notes from lead singer Jeff Klein.

Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing is the second studio album by English hardcore punk Legends Discharge, originally released in 1982. While some critcs at the time dismissed this album as unmusical, in retrospect, it is viewed both a classic of the era and the peak of Discharge’s career. The album is characterized by a minimalistic approach of music and lyrics, a heavy, distorted, and grinding guitar-driven sound and raw, shouted vocals similar to a political speech, with lyrics on anarchist and pacifist themes. The album is considered highly important in the evolution of extreme forms of metal and punk music, paving the way for genres such as thrash metal, black metal, crust punk and grindcore.

Improving on their very fine, self-titled debut album, their latest, “Sing Sing Death House,” is battle-scarred and resolute, but Brody’s tough voice is more expressive than your average punker’s and especially affecting when she flaunts the full range of her throaty snarl. On “Seneca Falls,” an appreciation of the women’s suffrage movement set to chugging guitars and a thumpity-thump bass, there’s an exceptional, goosebump-inducing though unintelligible chorus, which soars above the music because of the emotional quality of Brody’s howl. Otherwise, the music is quite stirring, coming from a gang of gutter-punks with lip piercings. Now available again on colored vinyl.

Evilive is a live album by The Misfits. It was initially released as a 7-song EP in December 1982 and later added 5 more songs and released as an album in October 1987. It was released on front man Glenn Danzig’s Plan 9 Records. The album title is a palindrome.

“Die, Die My Darling” is the sixth single by the horror punk band the Misfits. It was released in May 1984 on singer Glenn Danzig’s label Plan 9 Records, seven months after the band’s breakup. The song is titled after the 1965 horror film Fanatic, which had been released in the United States under the title Die! Die! My Darling! The cover of the single is derived from the cover of the September 1953 issue of the comic book Chamber of Chills. The back cover artwork was created by artist Pushead.

Skatalites “The Skatalite”

Limited edition of 750 individually numbered copies on turquoise coloured 180-gram audiophile vinyl. The album The Skatalite was originally released in 1969 and contains some of the best tracks from The Skatalites cut for producer Duke Reid. It was recorded with the classic line-up, featuring Don Drummond on trombone, Jackie Mittoo on piano, and Jonny “Dizzy” Moore on the trumpet. This 12-track set includes “Eastern Standard Time”, “Dan-De-Lion” and “Yard Broom” amongst others.

Skatalites “The Essential Artist Collection”

During the early 1960’s, the sound of ska exploded upon Jamaica’s musical landscape, with the driving dynamic sound championed by arguably the greatest ensemble of musicians ever to have performed and recorded on the island. Fronted by legendary saxophonist Tommy McCook, The Skatalites also comprised a veritable who’s who of Kingston-based performers, their number including trombonist Don Drummond, tenor saxman Roland Alphonso, drumming supremo Lloyd Knibb and keyboard prodigy Jackie Mittoo. Following their creation in the summer of ‘64, this powerhouse instrumental combo dominated the island’s music industry for 18 glorious months, the very best of their work produced by famed Treasure Isle Records boss, Arthur ‘Duke’ Reid.
