Can I over-share for a second?
I almost quit this year. Actually, I almost quit a lot of things this year. I was 1 more bad day from walking away from teaching and throwing in the towel on Capital Blooms. Honestly, I tried walking away. I applied for 20+ different jobs in completely different fields trying to get away from the stress I was feeling, hoping that one would work out and I could announce that I was leaving it all.
It’s just been a tough year, ya know? There are so many aspects that I used to love that have turned into a stress fest. (Like I’m about ready to have a bonfire with all my dahlia tubers 🫠) It won’t last forever, but I got as close to throwing in the towel as I have before.
I’m feeling the need to do some personal healing, so I’m stepping back for just for a few months to rekindle my joy of flowers for myself. I’ll be back when the spring flowers bloom! (Don’t worry, Spring CSAs and tuber orders are still very much on) You can still reach me through my Capital Blooms email, but I won’t be available on Social Media.
I’m hoping a little hibernation and a slower year full of joyful gardening and creating for myself will be just what I need. Flower friends, reach out for my number, and let’s take this into the real world 😘
