Built in 1823 and constructed in a Federal style, it is considered one of the oldest surviving brick homes in Alabama. The home was originally occupied by a cousin of George Washington & features an enclosed staircase that Thomas Jefferson would have favored. The hand carved mantels are truly a work of art. In 2005, the home was completely renovated & brought back to its elegance. It has a historical feel with modern amenities. The main house offers two stories and over 5,000 square feet of space. On the bottom floor you will find two parlors set aside for seating, powder room, bar area, a sitting room designed with the groom in mind, a large dining room for buffet or station style serving, a sun room where the bride's cake is sure to make a statement, and a large kitchen. The second story features a shared sitting area for the families to mingle and take a break between pictures and the ceremony, Bridal suite with a private room for the attendants, Groom’s suite with private bath and sitting area complete with TV. There are also public restrooms centrally located just to the back of the main house. In addition to our beautiful home you will find that our outdoor space is equally inviting.
