Viva La Rosa is the brain-child of Flowers Davis Immigration Law Immigration’s Ginger Durham Young Young. Last year her daughter Olivia was Princess of the Texas Rose Festival. As she asked clients and friends in the Hispanic community to come to the Queen’s Tea and Parade, so many people said they either didn’t know about Rose Festival or they didn’t think they weren’t invited/included.Ginger sought to change that! Flowers Davis Immigration agree to sponsor a Quinceañera float and Ginger asked friend Paulina Pedroza to help her find 6-9 young ladies for the float. Paulina sought out Ana Cornejo (then of Tyler Paper), Lilia Apario (15 Expo) and photographer Cesar Angeles to join the efforts.In six short weeks, Viva La Rosa (a group celebrating both the Texas Rose Festival and Hispanic Heritage Month – which ended on the day of the parade) was born. The result was amazing! 🌹 More than 40 Quinceañeras participates 🌹 3 official Rose Festival floats (including a float representing the 20 Hispanic heritage countries using local East Texas residents from each country) 🌹 7 parade entries (including bands, horses, music and dancing) 🌹More than 300 participants and volunteers from the Hispanic community 🌹 17+ sponsors 🌹1300 t-shirts, 1000 beads, 250 stickers and 150 flags were distributed We hope to make it even better this year! Thanks to the efforts this year from Paulina, Enrique Pizarro, Raquel Pizarro, Jackie and Marcos Renteria , and Reyna Revell of KETK it will be even more vibrant, colorful and amazing! Yesterday, Flowers Davis Immigration Law's Ginger Durham Young was LIVE with Paulina Pedroza and KETK Reyna Revelle explaining this year's Viva la Rosa - East Tx project and the application process for Quinceañeras wanting to participate in the 2023 Texas Rose Festival Parade. There is a meeting on July 18 at 7pm to answer questions.
