We were honored to welcome six delegates from Poland this week as part of the Sister City International program. During their visit, the group toured Texas Rose Festival Association and Viva la Rosa - East Tx . 🇵🇱🤝Bienvenidos.

Introducing Jocelyn Contreras, the daughter of Lourdes Esparza and Jose de Jesus Contreras. Jocelyn attends Chapel Hill High School where she participates in Band, the Hispanic Leadership Club, and takes medical and cosmetology classes. She plans to attend TJC and become a dental hygienist. Jocelyn also plans on in expanding her mom’s business – Jewelev (Official Jeweler of Viva la Rosa). Jocelyn wrote: “I want to be in the Parade because I have heard so many good things about the event and it is such a nice tradition we have. “ We are so excited that you are finally able to join us!

After graduating she plans to attend TJS top become a nurse. Briana wrote: “ I want to participoate in the parade because it would be a great experience and would love to get to meet other quinceaneras..” We are so excited you are joining us this year!

Introducing Lindsey Alai Carrillo, daughter of Ricard and Juana Carrillo. Lindsey attends Athens High School/Early Pinnacle College and participates in Source of Strength, Key Club and Drill Team. She planes to attend UT Tyler to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. In the meantime she plans to get experience by working in a nursing home. Lindsey is excited about being part of the Viva La Rosa entry for the Texas Rose Festival because she wants the feeling of being in her dress again and wants to meet new people and make new friends. We are excited to have you Lindsey!

Introducing Jeremai Angeles Riveros, daughter of Cesar Angeles and Patricia Riveros. Jeremai and her family have been involved with Viva La Rosa as her father Cesar has long been the Viva La Rosa photographer. Jeremai even took photos at our party this year! She attends Early College High School and is a member of the National Honor Society, Tyler Rose Ambassador program, and DECA. She also volunteers with the Food Bank, Texas Art Fest, Texas Rural Letter Carriers, and Visit Tyler. After graduation, Jeremai place to continue with her schooling so she can reach her final goal of becoming an Immigration Attorney. She wants to participate in the Rose Festival Parade so she can make her family and community proud and also to relive that special moment she had with her dress one last time. Glad you are joining us this year Jeremai!
