Moon’s Big Red Barn was built in what is now Bingham Township by Robert Rowley and Betsy Monroe. They married in 1860 and cleared the land for and built what is now The Big Red Barn and the neighboring home. Although there is no way to tell what year exactly the barn was completed it had to be between 1860-1865. Later, Robert enlisted in the civil war on February 2, 1865 and listed his occupation as farmer.
Though the barn has changed over the years- first as a dairy farm - then a hay barn - and later a barn for young stock - its beauty and simplicity still shines through. From the beautiful old beams to the high cathedral like ceilings this barn has certainly seen it all.
Moon’s Big Red Barn offers seating for up to 150 people with ample space for dinner and dancing. It offers an on-site outdoor wedding area with custom made live edge wood benches. Moon’s Big Red Barn also has two outdoor seating areas for your guest’s enjoyment.
