It’s official !!! I’m 35 today! (Again) couldn’t help but remember when my friend stopped by my studio on my Bday, back in 2015 and made me this great gift! Shout out to Santa for bringing me my Christmas Gift this year. Kidding. I mean WTF Santa??? Wasn’t I good boy this year? Seriously. It’s not like I asked for a NEW Lamborghini. I was totally fine with an old used model. Im not picky either I would have taken a 1968 Miura. Thanks for nothing fatty. I’ll remember this next time.

Walked into the studio, and the morning sun was glowing through a giant bag of foam scrap. The light glowing from within caught my eye. I thought it was pretty cool how you could spot the shavings from a current project. These giant bags of scrap go back to our foam supplier for them to grind up and recycle into many other products like keyboards, pipes, and more blocks of foam! See people? While all we see is white foam, we are GREEN !

Another flashback: This job we did for the NYC MTA subway stop on 92nd st. We made the cement forms shown… the end result shown as the black overhead beams). The first photo reminds me of the time I went night diving for lobster in the Long Island Sound.... Some water had gotten into my regulator and I swallowed it! I started feeling sick right away and panick struck me. It was dark (night dive) and I couldn't see 2 feet in front of me (LI sound) as i began to get sick from the water, I didn't want to be seen freaking out. And that's when it struck me... I was about to throw up!!!!! "Holy crap"!!! I thought. "I don't think I should shoot up to the top, I'll get the bends"! so I thought "stay calm...maybe if you just rest here at the bottom of the sound, for a sec, the sick feeling will go away. Nope! Here it came...now what?!? If I shoot up, I get the bends and possibly die. I can't take my regulator out of my mouth and puke, I'll die. If I puke into my regulator, I'll swallow my puke from my first breath back in... Split decisions needed to be made right there.... Screw it! I can deal with some bends. Wait... Too late! Here it comes..... Blaaaaa!!!! All into my regulater as if I was breathing out. But wait!!!! As this was happening a quick
Thought came to mind... "Purg the regulator"!!!! That will help push the puke out and away from me. But now I was about to take in my first breath and I thought "what if there is still some puke left"? Oh well.. At this point there is only one way to find out. Surprisingly enough my purging the regulator cleared it all away and I was able to take a huge breath of air .... And so there I was.... At hrs he bottom of the Long Island Sound . On my hands and knees, in the dark. Puke floating around me. Nice.
Looking at this picture, I can only imagine that this is what I would have looked like if there was light...and someone were to have taken a photo of me at just that moment! What a thrill!!!

The Villa Calabrese wine cellar buildout/installation continues. This is a work in progress, so parts are built at the studio and then off to the cellar for custom fitting and installation. Next up are the top shelving which will be brick veneered, then trimmed with accent lighting. THEN…. The wine!
