Sometimes we pack a dress and travel all the way to SWITZERLAND to scout pretty scenery…just for you🤗

We don’t ever want to promote an area we aren’t familiar with or make you promises we can’t keep, so when we come up with a fun elopement plan, you can trust it will be a great one!!! I see so many popular touristy requests for elopements, but honestly, many of those are not our personal favorites. We want the day to feel personal, relaxed, romantic and adventurous. Not a rushed, chaotic, push your way through a crowd to stand for 30 seconds in the iconic photo spot, kind of experience.

Lake Tahoe is one of the most popular destinations in the United States, and you can see why!! A large lake surrounded by mountains, tall pines, hiking trails, waterfalls; and best of all…love, serenity and laughter 💕

Pro tip if you choose this destination for your wedding: aim for a weekday to avoid weekend crowds and consider May or September when it’s not prime ski season and kids are still in school. Those months can be a bit chillier, but it makes for perfect hiking weather!!

I bet a good chunk of Midwesterners right now would love a good picnic here.

The snow is absolutely beautiful, but the 15 below (and not even sure what the feels like temp is after adding the windchill) doesn’t allow for much enjoyment outdoors. You lose feeling in your fingers after about 2 minutes if you forget the mittens inside. Yes, I tested it when I cleaned my car out after our Colorado road trip 🤦‍♀️

One of our favorite moments… after their first dance on the shoreline of Lake Superior, we surprised these two with an outdoor movie featuring THEM!! Their parents couldn’t make it with covid preventing them from crossing the Canadian/Us border so they sent us a home video filled with old photos and special messages from them all 💕

Sharing this set of images to celebrate my 59 year old mom successfully completing this hike yesterday!! If you want a hike that is challenging but totally doable by all ages and 100 percent worth it when you reach the top, we highly recommend Black Elk Peak in the Black Hills of South Dakota!!

Do you need a planner if you're simply eloping?
No.
But it sure is nice to have someone book your lodging, make your dinner reservations, bring you coffee, pick up your cake, officiate your ceremony, style you a picnic, and clean your dress after you run in the ocean in the rain;)
