In luxury and fashion there are 2 types of buyers. Buyers that buy brand name for the brand name, and buyers that buy brands for the artistry. Mikey Ramirez Films is the latter.
Let’s take 2 watch brands for example - Rolex vs Jaeger-LeCoultre.
I wasn’t much of a watch guy up until recent years, but I knew what a Rolex was. And after taking interest in watches, I discovered Jaeger-LeCoultre and I immediately fell in love.
Rolex have great watches don’t get me wrong! They’re timeless, safe and powerful. However JLC for me shares the elegant yet craftsmanship my soul has always craved.
With JLC, they’re constantly pushing the envelope yet maintaining a timeless and elegant look to them with a focus on artistry and legacy.
That’s where I ultimately want to take Mikey Ramirez Films. Into a place of artistry, legacy, beauty and boldness.
Serving couples that appreciate the artistry behind not just my work, but the depth and meaning behind their story and the story of their loved ones. Me and my couples all have a little “main character energy” in us, but do it with grace, honor and gratitude. ❤️

I want to talk more in depth about what I mean when I emphasize “legacy” in my work and in my business.
Here’s what I mean:
The couples I book, each have a desire to honor something greater than themselves. Whether it’s their parents, their grandparents, their children or even their friendships and relationships. They believe they are a part of a bigger picture and they find joy to be extending and furthering that legacy together.
So for them, having video captured on their behalf, while they get to enjoy the incredible blessing of marriage, is a must have. No “where’s my phone to capture this special moment” anxiety. No “I wish I got the dress with pockets so I can carry my phone just in case”. None of that. They want to witness their day, the joy on the faces of their families, the tears, the laughs. They want to enjoy it first hand with their own eyes. YET reexperience the fullness of it on film because they hired the best to do it.
This next season of your life is an admirable one. Marriage and weddings are a once in a lifetime experience, don’t miss it!

Every year is a year of growth. And every year, my couples teach me more about myself and my business than they might think.
Every year I go deeper and deeper about what I provide and what I want my business to be known for.
One true value I’ve found this past year that I’m pressing into moving forward as a wedding filmmaker, are the values of family & legacy.
One of my driving factors in life, is to lead a life that’s honoring to God, honoring to my family and honoring to myself. I believe each of us have a story tell, and we are a part of a bigger, majestic story.

This year I’m taking a risk, and will be doubling down on my desire to capture the essence of who my couples are and the legacy they want to leave behind. Marriage is a BIG deal! No matter how minimal today’s culture wants to make of it. So it deserves to be celebrated and to be remembered.

My goal as a filmmaker is to capture the essence of your love and your values. What do you want to be known for? What is your family known for? What stories will you tell of your parents? And finally, what stories will your children tell of you? Let’s dream big this year. ❤️ God bless you.

My first wedding was in 2016. And the first time editing any video was in 2009. So I can comfortably say I’ve been doing this a long time.

And the longer time goes, the faster camera technology seems to grow.

With the rise of professional quality at the consumer price range, having “good quality” is no longer enough. Anybody can spend $2k on a camera and start making money in a near instant.

And the problem isn’t that businesses are easier to start and thrive, the problem is that we’re now open to this sort of microwave business mentality.

Where good looking but cheap is now more accessible than ever.

And don’t get me wrong - no price point is a bad price point. Even if someone is purposefully driving down the market with unbelievably cheap prices. Eventually, they’ll find it’s either not sustainable, or the quality of service isn’t up to par.

However, I myself, along with many of my friends in this industry, have noticed a rise of new names that are in this industry to make a quick buck, don’t know how to run a business, and the people that get ripped? Brides & grooms. And then the rest of us are left having to pick up the pieces while these companies file for bankruptcy and keep this money.

We even have companies that are beginning to throw in all these “extras” just so they can make the extra money rather than guiding a couple to decide whether or not that’s right for them.

So what do we do? What’s the solution?

Well, as suggested, “start vetting your vendors”.

Don’t be afraid to hold them up to standard. And don’t be lured in by low prices. I understand you have a budget to work within. But at least make sure they are credible. Check their content. Is it filled with their beautiful work? Is it fueled with comments from their community fully supporting them? Or is their content full of a bunch of marketing techniques, bots and bought followers / comments?

Get onto a zoom call or a phone call at the bare minimum and get to know them on a more personal side. What’s their passion? What’s their driving factor?

My post is too long so I end here. ❤️

My heart and my business’ heart is overflowing with time and attention right now hahaha. I can feel the happiness in my business as I’ve been giving it MUCH needed attention!
Been pushing myself a little bit more creatively lately and “sharping my axe” so to speak. So once my wedding season starts up again I’ll be creatively rejuvenated and ready to BRING IT! 🔥
Room to breathe and margin is the life and blood of a premium / luxury business. Yeah money is important, but if you’re too busy making money and not able to love your product and clients well, then you’re TOO BUSY!
One of the best investments you can make into your business, career & wallets is to TAKE. TIME. OFF.

MAN!! I’m caught up on ALL of my editing for the year and have a little bit of extra time to relax a little bit and work on some much needed internal stuff!

I have some cool stuff in the works right now for you and my schedule for the year is filling in nicely!
I have room roughly for one more booking per month starting in September! So be sure to book a discovery call through my website if you’re wanting that Mikey Ramirez Films experience. We do things BIG over here. 🤩

These past few months for business development have been INCREDIBLE. It’s always been my goal to try and achieve excellence in business and my personal life.
And one of my biggest lessons has been that excellence does not = perfection. Nor should it.
Excellence is a mindset & a concept in which to serve others with the best of your capabilities. With a ready to go attitude and an empathetic posture. Ready to solve problems for others and make their lives incrementally BETTER.
Chasing perfection will leave you stressed & burnt out at the end of the day. Wasting energy on the little things and leaving little energy for the big things.
This year I’ve taken on less weddings but have felt for the first time the ability to serve and to serve well.
I’m incredibly grateful for 2021 and all of the lessons my couples & work have taught me, and I’m so excited for this year, to level up together even more!! ❤️

It was an honor to capture this dream of a wedding and represent an incredible hotel with a rich history of serving with excellence.
Finishing up a collection for our couples never ceases to satisfy, and this film does not disappoint! 🤩

This week I took a few days to travel with my family and it’s amazing how refreshed you feel even if it’s just a couple of days of traveling and enjoying life.
And as fun as it’s been - I’m excited to get back to it and get caught up on some much needed editing.
Sending out a few more collections this week that I’m excited for my couples & for you guys to see! 🙏🏽

6 years ago at my last ever job, I remember talking to God, saying: “Lord the last thing I’d want to be is an entrepreneur.. nothing sounds more dreadful than manipulating someone just to make a buck”

Fast forward 2 months later I’m moving to France to become a filmmaker because working a “regular job” just didn’t feel right.

I finally came to terms with the idea of becoming an entrepreneur but told God on one circumstance - “I refuse to be the sleazy, manipulative salesman. So if I start any business, I want it to be something that will impact lives”

After trial and error, working in most industries, corporate, music, film, real estate, I eventually landed on wedding filmmaking and fell in love… kinda.. the one thing that everyone I had known “hated” - I loved.

I would hear it, “ugh, i can’t wait to get out of this industry” or “don’t get caught in this cause you won’t get to leave!”

But I secretly loved it. Yeah it hasn’t been totally perfect. I haven’t been perfect, but that’s the beauty of it.

I get to film and capture things that are meaningful to my couples. And as I grow and learn more about myself and my couples. Getting to know their needs and even my own. The more I chisel away at this business and God chisels away at my heart, the more blessed I feel to get to capture these moments and produce something that is truly admired by people.

I’ve never really been fascinated by things, but giving people a good experience continues to be a driving factor in what I do. Uplifting people, serving people and being a resource to help inspire.

When I prayed in 2016 and asked God for a business that’s not predatory or manipulative - he really answered my prayer.

I’m so grateful. I love my job. I love my couples. I love my friends in the industry & I can’t wait to serve my couples from 2022, 2023 & beyond. ❤️

Thank you for such a great experience. Here’s to many more. 🥂

Sometimes you can get so caught up in the “common” and “safe” that you forget to portray your uniqueness. Thousands of people, like me, being told “what you should be doing” when you’re 1 “I give up” away from flourishing in your uniqueness and attracting those that are thirsty for their own.

How many times I’ve heard “but this what ‘they’re’ doing”

Who is they? And what do “they” have to do with my story?

Are there certain fundamentals you can learn about life? Absolutely! But to be stuck at the fundamentals instead of venturing off, out of fear of failure, judgement, or fear of the unknown? You can only get so far.

We’re all a little crazy. Me sometimes a little bit worse than others. Or at least maybe I’m just more honest 🤪. But I have no problem being an emotionally creative, expressive person. It’s the moments when I’m on my walks / hikes talking to myself and to God, looking like a crazy person that I achieve my best insights.

There are very few people that know I have no problem pushing the envelope, and may even sound crazy or ridiculous at times, but like I’ve been reading from Napoleon Hill “you’re one crazy idea away from success”.

And in my crazy, creative expressions - I’m my most happy.

How do you express yourself? What ways do you feel you’re allowing other’s to prevent you from expressing what makes your soul joyous?

15/02/2022

Up next! 😍
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I hope you spent it with a loved one and they lavished you with gifts galore and maybe a new car are something. Y’know nothing crazy. 🤪

21/01/2022

I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting lately on my last 6 years of professionally pursuing filmmaking. A lot of big moments and some extremely low valleys.

With the new year comes a lot of pressure in reflection. What are my goals this year? What did I not like about this past year that I want to change? Where did things go wrong and where did things go right? Where’s the industry headed?

I’ve even been thinking about things from 3 years ago.

And I can honestly say that one of my biggest “failures” was being more focused on growing a business than being a servant. It was focusing too much on outcome rather than enjoying the process. Taking myself too seriously instead of just having fun.

So this year one of my goals is happiness and servanthood.

I want to take on more projects that pique my interest and will push my soul creatively. I want to be more open about the things that inspire me without fear of judgment. I want to be a better friend to the child in me.

Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my studies lately, it’s that not everyone gets inspired by what inspires you. Not everyone appreciates the little things that you do. And that’s okay. Don’t let that hold you back from exploring what inspires you, and producing what you feel you’d be proud of. Even if it sucks. Do it anyway.

I’d rather fail at producing something that excites me and learn from it, than to produce something boring and predictable. Eventually I know the multiple bad attempts, will turn into a masterpiece years down the road. ❤️

It takes a real sense of motivation in the heart of a person to decide to give themselves as a willing sacrifice for the safety and freedom of their family friends and community.
A motivation to be admired and sought. A motivation that brings life and potential for the furtherance of a people.
Lord give me strength to even touch a hint of the boldness these men and women hold who have so diligently served our country and people.
Thank you to all of you, who have given your lives for the safety of your families and even my family. I pray that I never grow entitled or forget why I’m able to grow my business and live my life in peace - because of you.
God bless you and your families and thank you for your service. ❤️
