I would like to introduce you to the cutest little library in Texas and the place where I work. It all started with the vision of Louise Cronin.. Her hard work and dedication built a library for the students at Wonderland School. Wonderland is a privately owned, state approved Christian school in San Marcos, Texas. It was established in 1965 by Mrs. Shirley Fife. Over the past 50-plus years the school has grown from the original 10 students in her dining room to the quaint learning establishment it is today. It provides an educational alternative to public school.
Louise taught herself how to organize and develop a library. Through hard work and determination she was able to develop a place where students could check out books and read for enjoyment. Upon her passing in 2010 her granddaughter, Lisa Murphy wanted to keep her legacy alive by creating the Louise Cronin Memorial Library Fund. With these funds they were able to build a separate building to house the library and eventually a librarian was hired to curate it. However, 2020 hit hard and the library has not had a keeper until now. In January, a librarian was hired and all students PK-5 have been enjoying stories, learning, and reading in the library. A library needs to be maintained and continually grown by weeding the old and outdated materials and replenishing with new and updated titles.
In order to do this, we need funds. All of our funds come from generous donations of those who care about reading and the development of the future generations.
Please consider donating to this worthy cause. Any amount will help us to maintain staffing, technology, books and more for Wonderland students.
