FIRST UP IS Some Kind of Nightmare
The American punk rock band, Some Kind Of Nightmare, got their start in 2006 playing 90's style street punk in small bars and house shows around the American Midwest. In 2009, they uprooted, and moved to California where they played around the American South West, and West Coast, for a few years until 2013. That's when they decided to quit their jobs, leave their homes behind, and pursue a full time touring career.
Over the past 10 years, they have endured a non stop campaign of touring all across The United States. Including major festivals such as Punk Rock Bowling (Las Vegas, NV), Camp Punksylvania (Scranton, PA), and The Punk Rock Picnic (Orange County, CA). Opening for such bands as The Misfits, T.S.O.L., FEAR, D.I., Jello Biafra, Angry Samoans, Die Hunns, The Casualties, Total Chaos, Cheap S*x, The Qu**rs, Get Dead, Mephiskapheles, Fang, The Gears, Voodoo Glow Skulls, The Undead, Murphy's Law, One Way System, JFA, Verbal Abuse, Avengers, Radolescents, 45 Grave, Battalion of Saints, Calabrese, Koffin Kats, Days N Daze, Escape From the Zoo, Bad Cop Bad Cop, Public Serpents, Death March, and so many more.
They have two albums that they released on Asteroid M Records in Las Vegas, Nevada, and two independently released EP's. Along with a few other independent releases from earlier years. In 2024, Some Kind Of Nightmare are making plans to branch out into Canada, Mexico, and Europe to promote an upcoming full length album release on Asteroid M Records, and to reach out to a wider audience.

Help Houston & The Dirty Rats out! Tourings hard!

The short version:
The Houston & The Dirty Rats / Tryingtogetby tour van caught fire and broke down in Georgia yesterday. These bois are part of the SKON family and could really use some help right now. If you got a few bucks to throw their way, it would mean the world to them right now.

Here's their version:
Yesterday sometime after crossing the line into Georgia on the way to Florida, we started hearing/feeling an intense grinding underneath our van, which suddenly stopped and then came back again with a smell. At first it seemed like a tire situation, but the van didn't seem to be losing balance, so we pulled over - our muffler had fallen off (likely from the sudden switch from winter to summer we experienced while making our way down here), and the underside caught fire. We put out the fire and basically agreed not to start the van again until we could get towed. But there we were, waiting for AAA for hours until Justin Ruppert-Baer saved our asses and took the band down to St. Augustine... everyone except Houston, who needed to stay with the van. As the night wore on and he was still waiting for a tow, he finally got back to us and said the tow was coming... at 9AM THE NEXT DAY. As in, Houston had to sleep overnight with the van in Georgia, and only right now as I type this out is someone bringing him and the van to Jacksonville. So we are a mess and we still don't even know what caused the fire; I suppose all our answers will be questioned (don't trip I did that on purpose) but for now we are not only likely hemorrhaging some important fluid but we are also hemmhoraging money. In the end, it might not be so bad but the last hundred or so times I've said that I've been told by the universe to stop smiling and expect the worst. So, anything helps at the moment.
