First River Rave of the season was epic. Core RR crew ventured out for a Tuesday test run under a full moon to make sure the equipment is ready to Rave on June 1. Thanks Biltmore for the free tour. Bent Creek to the RAD never disappoints
Sadly we’re going to hit pause and shoot for next weekend for the next River Rave instead. Sunday was the only day that most of the crew had available this weekend and the chance of thunderstorms on Sunday has been bouncing between 60%-75% for the last 24 hours. We’re going to hope for better weather and a little higher water levels next Saturday or Sunday. Get out there and do sometime rad this weekend and in the meantime enjoy an edit I made from a mountain surf session on Wednesday with @Efoilcarolinas

NYE dance party alert. It’s a little cold for raving on the river tomorrow eve so a few of the river crew are gonna bring the underground dance club vibes and a sick new sound system to Catawba Brewing Company - South Slope and ring in 2023 proper! Let's float!!! Jut Rut and Jody With A Y are bringing ya the River Rave vibes and fresh summer beats to the French Broad this Saturday 7/30! We'll meet up at 3:00 at French Broad Outfitters Hominy Creek and float from the sandbar around 3:30ish. Given this time of year, a summer storm is always a possibility so plan accordingly. If the weather is awesome and the party is rockin we're planning to take out at the new Silver-Line park in Woodfin. If we float to Silver-Line Park it should be a 4-5 hour float with current river levels. If you are looking for a shorter float, the take-out across from New Belgium is a good option and we'll likely take out at this spot if we get hit by a few storms and/or the river is moving slower than I'm expecting. If you are not renting something to float on from French Broad River Outfitters, please park in the public parking area at Hominy, walk your gear into the private parking area, buy a beer from the fine folks at FBO and join us at the sandbar as we get ready to float on! River Rave July 3rd 2021
The weekend is coming.. Let's River Rave! The party starts at 2:00 this Saturday 7/17 at FBO at Hominy Creek and we float at 2:30ish. Bring good vibes and something that floats and park in the public parking area and walk on in. We are River Raving tomorrow!!! Saturday the 29th! First thing to factor in is, Get There Early!!! The hominy creek put in is going to be crazy!! And parking / walking your gear to the launch site is going to take a while. Do not park at French Broad River Outfitters unless you have rented boards from them. Park in one of the public spots and walk thru the FBO gates with your float of choice. Buy a beer from them and kick back and get ready to River Rave. We are getting the party started at 2 on the sand bar and will launch from the sand bar at French Broad River Outfitters sometime after 2:30. Where you take out of the river is up to you and how long you feel like raving. How you get back to your car is up to you. Here are some other tips / details / overview. What to bring…, snacks, good vibes, something that floats, and some water if you’re planning to go for the full experience. Know that Hominy to Woodfin Business Park is going to take about 6 hours or more. What is a River Rave you be asking? Myself and a crew of DJs will kick off summer and be mixing tunes on a giant stand up paddle board from a Dj booth with an awesome sound system as we float the French Broad.
Again, we'll meet at FBO Hominy at 2 for some preparty and float from the sandbank at 2:30ish. You can take out at multiple places along the route but the party will likely float to the Woodfin Business Park.
Kids are cool if they are cool, but adults will be doing adult things and the songs we play will have adult words. If you’d take your kid to Coachella or Burning Man and they can swim, then they should be fine at a River Rave ;) See ya tomorrow!!

Well 2020 didn’t start as we planned but we dusted off the dj booth and pumped up the sups last week for a small test run. We are looking forward to day when we can play music to the masses and share a floating dance floor on the river. Good times are coming. #riverraves #frenchbroadriver
