One day a person asked me what does this mean “do not stir up not awaken love until it pleases”. That question was asked of me three years ago and it has remained engrained in my mind ever since. I find myself continually seeking the answer. The quote comes from Song of Songs, which is a love story in the Bible. It tells a story of a woman and man falling madly in love and enduring through fears, trials, insecurities and so much more..
.
By that simple question I was lead down a path seeking the understanding behind that verse.
.
“Do not stir up nor awaken love until it pleases”
.
In a beautiful, yet odd way I find myself understanding it more and more throughout my filmmaking journey. Making these films has stretched me to places I never thought possible. It has taught me to soften my heart towards the possibility of love.
.
To be quite honest I was always quite pessimistic about love. I thought love was a facade and married couples were not actually happy. It all felt so fake to me.
.
That was until I became a wedding filmmaker. I found out that love was actually real. I could see it. I could see it in my couples eyes. In the way that they held each other. The way that they danced. The way that they laughed.
.
Love is not perfect and I am typically only seeing a very small portion of a persons story. But after years of pessimism and fear I have learned that love is something to be embraced. Love is possible. It is simply a matter of allowing it to happen when the time comes.

And THIS is how you give your friends and family FOMO. We filmed this video after Michelle and Paul had to postpone their wedding. So Paul wrote a script to get their guests excited for the new wedding date!
.
We started off by filming at Michelle and Paul’s home and then drove up to Big Bear to film the rest of the scenes.
.
This film was very different than anything I had done before relating to weddings. It brought me back to my days on set where we had scripts and shot lists!
.
The wedding of Mariana and Thomas.
.
Through the roller coaster of life, they have withstood the tests and trials that came their way.
.
These two are a power couple. It was an emotional day. There was no lack of tears. No lack of laughter. And no lack of love.
.
I was truly honored to capture this day 🤍

Happy Wednesday everyone! Despite COVID, this year has been filled with many incredible adventures. I am so blessed to be able to still be working. With that being said, I am opening up a studio base in Downtown LA. So I will be in both LA & SD. I am excited for this new journey! I haven’t really tapped into the LA market, mainly because I absolutely love SD weddings. I had lived in LA since I was eighteen, and it really became home to me. So I am really excited to be back. I still have my home in Murrieta, and plan on filming many weddings in San Diego and Temecula. I hope this move sparks new levels of creativity as well as curating the best client experience that I can 🤍 I want to be able to easily meet with clients in both areas, so I think this move will be well worth it! Thank you to everyone who has supported me and trusted me to capture their stories. I wouldn’t be able to do this without you all 🤍

Experimentation - I love doing Instagram highlights because they allow me to use shots and editing techniques that aren’t traditionally seen as “beautiful” in the wedding industry. But I personally love it. I think it’s more raw and natural. When things are too “staged” I think it looks fake and inauthentic. I’m constantly trying to find that balance between cinema grade quality that feels like a home movie 🍿
