My brother Brad sent me this notice from just outside Madrid New Mexico. I got to play there a few times more than 30 years ago at the Mineshaft Tavern and have been back several times. My Mom used to haul us up to her brother's farm in Kansas each summer for a week. His name was Buddy and he sure wasn't! He was a mean SOB. His wife, my aunt Maryann, was my very first crush at age thirteen. She made these oatmeal cookies with nuts in them that, to this day, still takes me back...what would that be, 63 years!! She left Buddy and NO ONE blamed her. She passed away earlier this year in her mid 90s. It took me some fifty years to find her, and this song came out of it. I'm going to go buy some oatmeal cookies right now. That's all.

For 25 years, Wayne Richards has brought together great singer-songwriters in a round robin format to share their music and their stories! This Friday at 7pm, Wayne welcomes Hana Zara and Tracy Grammer with Jim Henry for an evening of fun in a video premiere! You will be able to chat with the artists and your friends in the comments section during the premiere! The show will be available to view afterwards, if you can't make it at 7!
