Where to eat in West Palm Beach Florida at 1:00 in the morning? Havana restaurant! open 24 hours! Rod Ediger and I flew in today for another great Canto event! The doggies all said goodbye at the door as usual. We will miss them but auntie Barb Forsyth will take great care of them.

Tomorrow will be filled with errands and dinner with clients and my awesome team Jeannette Corey and, Robert Westerman! Then Sunday we start loading in and setting up for an amazing tri-themed dinner event Monday night. Looking forward to seeing everybody again. After one extra day, two flight changes and one gate change I'm finally on my way home! Feeling tired but better and temp is back in the normal range. Having a pretty high fever for a couple of days kicked my ass.

Thank you Rod Ediger for being the best support and taking great care of my fur kids. That took a lot of pressure off. 😘🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

Canto Event Management swings Roaring 20's! designed this two room "Prohibition meets Gatsby" event for our client's customer appreciation dinner.

A huge shout out and thank you to our amazing event team. Couldn't have done it without you all! Corey, Rod Ediger, Robert Westerman, Randy Lowe, Kipp Kranert, Cleber DeCastro, Janet Sanfilippo, Lori Kelly, Thomas Guffanti, Lennis Sabatino, our awesome caterer and great transportation staff who braved torrential rains to get our clients into the event.

And just like that another year has flown by and we are on our way to West Palm Beach Florida via Dallas for another great Canto event. It's been 2 years since we've done this event live. We are so excited! And the conference that we are working with I have done an event for for the last 18 years!

And my send-off committee was not happy to see Mommy leaving again. I was able to sneak in a quick game of fetch with Dug and Sparky this morning. That was my meditation time today.

I'm a bit late in posting pics from our "Beautifully Affordable " Canto reception on March 15th in Orlando.

Our client requested a cirque theme so we got creative with brightly colored linens, talented performers, yummy food, theatrical uplighting, and of course there were the traditional peanut M&Ms during set up.😁

Champagne with cotton candy was handed to guests as they entered the room and were welcomed by costumed greaters.

Entertainment included a Lollipop Lyra Aerialist, LED Poi Spinner, Contortionist, an LED Hula Hoop artist all tied together with music from DJ Los.

Thank you to our client who trusted me to produce another important customer event. This one was fun.

And thank you to an awesome team who helped me bring this vision to life, especially Jeannette Corey my program coordinator who kept me organized, managed the artists show flow, and suggested the Champagne cotton candy welcome drink!😊🥂

Lissette with Urban Tide was the best to work with and I can't say enough about the banquet captains Noureddine and Gary who were so excited about the theme that they went into the banquet closet and filled in with some additional colorful props.

Business meetings don't have to be stuffy! We transformed a boring hotel suite into a beautiful cheerful space for our client's customer meetings. Flowers and lighting make everything better! Thank you for the beautiful floral arrangements. 💜🌺

Yana Gegechkori Even though you had to work doing a site visit and tasting on your birthday yesterday, Tom Gioielli wanted to make sure we celebrated your day. Flowers at the Lake Pavilion and then a custom strawberry creme brulee birthday cake (made by our Italian bakery in West Palm Beach) surprise at The Breakers. It was a little windy and overcast at The Breakers but still can't beat the location! Thank you Jeannette Corey , Randy Lowe and Frank with The Breakers for helping us pull this off! Happy Birthday week Yana!!

Does anyone recognize this beautiful woman??

I had the pleasure of hosting a Zoom M&G with her Sunday afternoon with our clients. She is as sweet and gracious as she is beautiful!

I'll be producing the first ever Canto Event Management Virtual Soiree Monday night with Vanessa Williams as our headliner! 😁 Thank you Jason Chavez for suggesting her to me!

It's going to be great! We shipped cheese and charcuterie boards and custom labeled bottles of wine to all the attendees. In addition to broadcasting a live private concert with Vanessa Williams, attendees will be able to enjoy hybrid casino games - blackjack, craps and roulette with live dealers - virtual caricatures, a virtual photo booth and virtual M&G photos with Vanessa on the great platform we're using.

I'm very excited! Me and Teresa Pezzi have been having a great time working with our client for the past few months and Monday night (well Monday afternoon at 2:00p.m. for me here in AZ) it all comes together!

Normally I'd post photos of the event set up and finished room but there is no room! I'll probably post my caricature and virtual M&G photo with Vanessa!

Today is a milestone anniversary...

15 years ago today on June 20th, 2005 I took a leap and launched my own company, Canto Event Management. A quote from Kobi Yamada made a huge impact on my life at the time, "Sometimes you have to take the leap and build your wings on the way down". That quote is as meaningful to me today as it was 15 years ago! Maybe there's another leap to be made?

Well I beat the odds! They say most small businesses don't make it past five years! There have been good days and bad days, stressful days and amazingly successful & wonderful days, immensely gratifying days and days I thought what the hell am I doing?! What I've done is produced some amazing events and won several awards including an Esprit,(an international event design award) with a fantastic team of event professionals and friends by my side! I've had the privilege to produce Lionel Richie, James Taylor, Carole King, Don Henley, Taylor Swift, the Pointer Sisters, Gladys Knight, Gino Vannelli, Bobby Caldwell and more! I've worked with some wonderful loyal clients and been entrusted with both large and small budgets!

A lot of things are changing right now and I don't know what the future holds but I've learned a lot over the years...
I've learned that I loved every "glamorous" (not)
minute designing amazing events...
I love being my own boss...
I enjoy collaborating with amazingly talented people...
I've learned to believe in myself and my talent...
I love that I can set sail in whatever direction I want to go and chart my own course...
And I've learned that when you take the leap the wings do appear!

I am beyond grateful for all of my friends and colleagues who have listened to me, supported me, advised me and had infinite patience with me over the years. There are so many people thank but I don't want to try to list them all for fear I would leave someone out. But if you are reading this post and have ever been part of the Canto Team thank you!!! I appreciate you and it's been a privilege to work with you.

This memory makes me smile! It's just another example of how "glamorous" the event production business isn't! But spite of the rain we pulled off a great event and the guests didn't even seem to notice that the cocktail reception was flooded. There were ladies in high heals at the bar who didn't notice or seem to be bothered by the fact that they were standing in an inch of water! Thanks to Freeman Fletch

the band gear and lighting equipment was saved and we moved as much inside as would fit. Roberta McCartney

Day 3 of our 3 day program is in the books! The client wanted to end their conference on a WOW and we did! Guests had a fabulous time tonight at G Collection surrounded by beautiful cars, beautiful women, the sounds of a great swing band, delicious food and a donut wall! Toward the end of the evening we switched it over to Bollywood music and it turned into a dance party! I was humbled at the end of the evening when one of the guests took the microphone and thanked me for all of my work for the last three days. It always means a lot when the guests appreciate you. A huge shout out to my vendors and event staff for the last 3 days! As always, could not have done it without you all! @ G Collection

Day Two of our three day event - teambuilding anyone?? It's a beautiful afternoon to get out of the meeting room and build and race your own soap box cars!! 🏁They have to be functional and drivable!! I'm very happy with the way this Beautifully Affordable holiday party turned out! Just a little touch of Christmas tree "napkin origami" topped with gold glitter snowflakes made the tables really pretty. it's hard to tell from these photos but the tablecloths were pretty silver shimmer satin. Yummy food, a great interactive DJ, gingerbread house contest, some fun games and a surprise visit from Santa made this a really lovely holiday party. Thank you , it was a fun night! @ Phoenix Zoo

Well another year has flown by! This will be the 15th year in a row that I've worked Thanksgiving week for my Canadian client! Looking forward to seeing all of the great people I get to work with for the next 8 days as the F&B B. I know what you're thinking but Greg Barry give me the title of F&B Babe last year. 😊 I'm going to miss my babies but they gave me a happy send off as I was leaving this morning. And my Lyft driver told me I have swag! I didn't feel very swaggy with no make up and 3.5 hrs. sleep so that was very nice.

What a privilege to design and produce this event at the Kennedy Space Center on Friday. Our client titled it "Moonshot Goals". The group was taken on a two hour private tour of the Visitor Complex that culminated at the Space Shuttle Atlantis Venue where guests came nose to nose with Atlantis, the only space shuttle displayed in flight. Space Shuttle Atlantis venue also includes more than 60 interactive exhibits celebrating the history, technology and impact of NASA’s Space Shuttle Program. This was the highlight of the program!
