'The News with Shepard Smith'
After more than a year and a half of story-telling and advocating, the Live Events Coalition is getting a prime-time national news feature! Today, The News with Shepard Smith on CNBC, will feature an investigative piece about the state of the Live Events Industry and the limited relief we have received so far. Wendy Porter, Vice Chair of Government Affairs, is featured in the story, along with other small business owners from the industry, and SBA Administrator, Isabella Guzman. This is another big step for our industry as our voices are being promoted on a national scale, sharing the continued need for relief by live events workers.

- WHAT: Free Thanksgiving meals to-go!
- WHEN: 11am - 2pm on Thanksgiving Day
- WHERE: The Hall at Fauntleroy
With heavy hearts, we had to cancel last year's Community Thanksgiving due to rising Covid cases in our area. This year, while not fully back to our normal sit-down community event, we are able to continue our holiday tradition by offering pre-packaged Thanksgiving meals-to-go for walk-up or curbside delivery. We will miss all of you, our Thanksgiving family, and hope you will accept our offer of a meal or simply drive by and give a honk on Thanksgiving day!
We're accepting donations of NEW SOCKS and BLANKETS which can be dropped off at the Hall at Fauntleroy (front entrance where it says "Auditorium") on Thanksgiving morning between 9:30 and noon. We are not accepting dessert donations this year, nor clothing donations.
We request that, as much as possible, guests make a reservation to regulate the flow of people coming to pick up meals. Call 206-932-1059 or email [email protected].
The Hall at Fauntleroy is located at 9131 California Ave SW, 98136 in the old Fauntleroy School Building, across the street from the Fauntleroy YMCA and The Fauntleroy Church United Church of Christ.

The Governor's office announced this week that around $70 million dollars have been allocated to support local businesses. In our discussions with the Governor's office and the commerce department, we have been learning about the plans for the role out of these funds. They are working to distribute these funds to the most impacted industry sectors as a priority. There is a challenge and we need your immediate help. The commerce
department will be using NAICS codes to identify business sectors with the most need. The challenge with this is there are no NAICS codes for the events industry. Most of us are in codes more frequently used for other business types. The Commerce Department is asking for our help in identifying the NAICS codes our industry professionals typically use for their businesses by MONDAY, 11/23. Please complete this short 3 question survey so that we can be sure we don't miss NAICS codes that might get used.

One year ago today, we were wrapping up Day-2 of the 2019 Northwest Event Show and looking ahead with great anticipation to the future. Scroll forward to 2020. Who could have thought things could have turned so upside down and in such a short time?
