Do you need to plan a wedding in 4 months? If so, follow below!
Month 1: The Foundation
• Set Your Budget: Determine how much you’re willing to spend and allocate funds to various categories (venue, catering, dress, etc.).
• Book Your Venue: Choose your venue and secure your date. This is the most important first step!
• Hire Key Vendors: Book your photographer, videographer, caterer, florist, and DJ. Be sure to book vendors with availability that aligns with your timeline.
• Start Shopping for Your Dress: Begin searching for your wedding dress. Consider ordering off-the-rack or exploring stores with quick turnaround times.
Month 2: Finalizing Essentials
• Send Save-the-Dates/Invitations: Once the venue is secured, send out save-the-dates or wedding invitations, particularly if you’re having a destination wedding or need guests to plan early.
• Hire a Wedding Planner** If you haven’t already, consider hiring a wedding planner to help you stay organized and manage the details.
• Book Your Officiant: Choose a wedding officiant who aligns with your vision for the ceremony.
• Select Bridesmaids Dresses: If you have bridesmaids, finalize their dresses and send them measurements.
• Start Thinking About Your Menu: Meet with your caterer to decide on the food and beverage options. If you’re doing a sit-down meal or buffet, make decisions about the menu.
Month 3: Details, Details, Details
• Finalize Your Wedding Dress: If you haven’t already, finalize your dress and schedule fittings for alterations.
• Order Wedding Rings: Start shopping for wedding bands for you and your partner.
• Book Hair and Makeup Artists: Schedule hair and makeup trials, and book your stylists for the big day.
• Confirm Your Vendor Contracts: Double-check contracts with vendors, confirm dates, and review final details (such as arrival times, setup needs, and special requests).
• Plan Your Honeymoon: If you’re planning a honeymoon right after the wedding, now’s the time to book your travel and accommodations.
• Create Wedding Day Timeline: Begin creating a timeline for the day, including the ceremony, reception, and any other key moments.
Month 4: The Final Countdown
• Final Dress Fitting: Schedule a final fitting for your wedding dress, ensuring any last-minute adjustments are made.
• Send Final Invitations: If you haven’t already, send out the last round of invitations and follow up with guests who haven’t RSVP’d.
• Finalize Décor and Rentals: Confirm your decorations and any rental items like tables, chairs, linens, and lighting.
• Confirm Vendor Details: Contact each vendor to confirm timing, details, and any final changes.
• Prepare Your Wedding Day Emergency Kit: Pack essentials such as safety pins, a sewing kit, makeup for touch-ups, and pain relievers.
• Practice Vows: If you're writing your own vows, rehearse them and make sure you feel ready to speak from the heart.
• Relax and Enjoy the Final Weeks: Take some time to relax, meditate, and enjoy the final preparations. Keep your focus on the love and joy of your upcoming celebration.
