A few years later in 2013, my sister and her now husband asked me to officiate their wedding. Since then, I have married dozens of more couples from friends and family to acquaintances and people I’ve never met befor

Why am I an officiant? I became ordained in 2011, just after gay marriage was legally recognized in New York, in order to marry my two dear friends. Afterwards, I married my sister and her husband and then a few couples that I knew from work or through friends. Quickly, I started to marry people I've never met before!

Why do I like being an officiant? I LOVE being an officiant for a few reasons. First, I love creative writing. Before I went into Social Work, I was an English major in college. Second, I love public speaking. I volunteer as a 4-H leader and was involved as a youth; public speaking is a big cornerstone of 4-H. Lastly, I love combining those two things! When I meet a new couple, I'm so excited to hear their story and let my inspiration take over. With their memories, experiences and desires for their ceremony; I create something completely unique to them as a couple. No cookie cutter weddings from me!

Let me know if you have questions you'd like me to answer!

The winter months seem to be the time of year to lock down an officiant. I have officiated a dozen weddings as of 2015 and hope to have as many more in the next two years! I have attached some samples of how I personalize my ceremonies. Some couples ask for a theme such as the Greek words for love or just COFFEE! I truly find it a pleasure to meet with a couple and get to know them so that their ceremony is about their relationship. Please feel free to contact me for more information.
