It’s been A MINUTE since we did a 🙃

If you know them, you love them. Chuck and Terri, the sweet owners, are some of the most genuine and kind people you’ll ever meet. We’ve had the honor of working with them for several weddings, designing their website, and documenting their brand through photo and video. To be able to play a role in telling their story and watching them grow in big ways has been incredible.

If you are in the market for a florist, search no more. We seriously can’t sing their praises enough. Not only do you get THE BEST customer service, you’ll get the most gorgeous floral arrangements, and get to work with the sweetest people! I’m so ready to be holding the bouquets, fixing the dresses, finding the pretty light, and capturing wedding days again 😩 I think all wedding vendors can relate once the time of year hits WE’RE READY.

✨ 5 things you should know about getting ready ✨

1) Plan extra time for getting into your dress. This is *usually* the part of the day that runs behind if extra time isn’t built into the timeline in advance. I can’t tell you how many brides get completely into their dress and realize they forgot deodorant, or their buttons take way longer than expected, they have trouble fastening the veil, etc. It’s better to plan on a few things happening so that if you do run behind you have that extra cushion of time!

2) Put on your shoes, jewelry, and perfume once you’re in your dress. This allows us to capture all those “final” getting ready touches! 💄

3) If the space you are getting ready in doesn’t have adequate lighting, we may find another location (if possible!) where we can get some more natural window light to fall on you. This allows the photos to have that natural bright feeling that you want!

4) Relax & soak it in. At this point in the wedding planning, no one should be coming to you for questions! That’s your coordinators job, or choose a bridesmaid if you don’t have a coordinator. You don’t need any extra stress day of! 🫶

5) Think through who you want in the room when you get into your dress! If you want to do a first look with your bridesmaids you may only want your mom to help you in your dress. Or if you want to do a first look with your parents together, maybe you want to just have your maid of honor in there with you! There’s no right or wrong to this - just something to decide in advance so you can be sure to have it flow the way you want! ✨

To my friend who loves photography:

This video has some great points. The bottom line is "don't give up".

I started taking pictures a very long time ago, and after 20-plus years of trying and the Lord's blessing, we have dream clients sending emails asking my team to help them with a project.

But it didn't start there. It just started with the love of trying to do things.

I shot for fun, for free, for hardly anything, and over time, it has finally gotten to the place of thriving.

Don't get me wrong, it is not where I want it. This should be a new year with new opportunities, but it works and helps provide for my family.

But I digress. Watch the video now and see if you are encouraged to keep trying, taking pictures, serving people, and growing your hobby or business.

Wedding Hot Take ⬇️

I loveee big bridal parties 👏 The energy they bring to a wedding day is unmatched. When I first started wedding photography, if I saw a big bridal party, I felt terrified to coordinate that many people and get them all to do the same thing, but now I feel the exact opposite 😅 I personally think it gives the photos a more full, energetic feeling and I’m here for it 😍

We will be raising our prices on February 20th of this year. This is due to booking for 2025, keeping up with demand, and the expertise that we offer. We wanted to make sure you knew in advance so if you’re on the fence of reaching out, now’s your time!

What does this mean for you?

If you’re a 2024 couple who is holding back on booking - don’t wait too much longer! Once we raise the prices it will be the same for remaining 2024 bookings and 2025 bookings.

If you’re a 2025 couple, but you want to get 2024 pricing, you just have to lock in the contract by February 20th to make that happen!

We still have some Fridays & Saturdays available for 2024 and we are in the full swing of booking for 2025. We would love to chat with you and see if we’re a good fit for your wedding day. You can fill out the inquiry through the link in our bio.

This weeks goes to the one and only Natasha Learn 😍✨

Not only did she build and design a dreamy venue (), she also offers full wedding planning and design for her couples. She really does it all! To know her, is to love her. She’s one of the most kind, genuine, hardworking people you’ll ever meet. It’s been fun to work together on numerous projects the past few years including photographing weddings at the Harper, capturing their Grand Opening event, working several different styled shoots, and most recently their branding session! Every time we work with her, it’s nothing short of amazing.👏

Natasha as a wedding designer and planner is detail-oriented, modern, and organized. The experience she offers to her couples is so seamless and takes SO many burdens off their plates. If I could go back and hire her to design my wedding, I would in a heart beat 🤪 On wedding days the one thing that always stands out to me is that she genuinely cares. Everyone in the room including the couple, bridal party, family members, and vendors all feel calm and confident because she takes charge and is intentional and organized. It’s an experience you won’t regret 🫶

Crawling out of busy season 😅🥳 Our team did 6 different sessions just on Monday if that tells you a little bit about how we’re surviving busy season! I just got back from a week of traveling for work and today is headed to film in Branson, Missouri for this week 👏

I might be slightly excited that it’s almost winter and we can *hopefully* enjoy some slower days.

Where you get ready the morning of your wedding day matters! ✨

There are so many emotions and feelings as you’re just hours away from seeing your husband and getting married! The photos captured during this time are so important. The final moments with your girls, seeing your hair and makeup dreams come to life, reading letters from your soon-to-be husband, and of course putting on your wedding dress. Years from now when you look back on these photos, I can guarantee all the feelings will come right back 🥰

Here are 2 things to consider when choosing your getting ready space to make sure the photos can be the best they can! ⬇️

1) Natural light is a must. And the more of it - the better. ☀️
Not only is this light the most flattering light for hair and make up, it also allows us to capture beautiful, bright photos. Natural light will also allow for a space to look more high-end even if it’s not a huge space. Never underestimate the power of a good window! 🫶

2) A clean, organized space. 🤌🏼
We know a room full of bridesmaids, hair and make up artists, and other family members can easily become messy and cluttered. We highly recommend finding a space that has adequate space for everyone and their things. It’s okay if it gets messy, before we doing any photo, we’ll help pick up and get it organized again.

We adored this getting ready space for Ian and Nashia’s wedding! It checked all of the boxes and was a photographers dream!
